Topic: Nintendo 3ds face plates

Right now I only have the original face plates, the reason being is that I feel they're too expensive where I live.
On top of the price I didn't get them because I'm going to Japan, and they have exclusive face plates as well as cheaper pricing .

What are you thoughts on the pricing? Do you think they are worth it?If you want tell me the price in your country so I can compare.

Also if your living in America how do you feel about not getting face plates or standard size new 3ds for that matter?

I think they're overpriced for what they are, but I guess it fits in with the rest of Nintendo's pricing policy to be so.

I've not bought any yet, though might get the Majora's Mask plates (about £15 in UK) in a moment of weakness. If I was more into customisation I'd probably just use stickers instead. Slightly less slick, but infinite in choice and very cheap in comparison.

To me, the faceplates are incredibly overpriced - I really don't think they're worth more than £5 - half to a third of their RRP.

They are only two moulded pieces of plastic with a couple of tiny screws after all (with images, granted). Nintendo is making a mint out of these I'm sure - the actual manufacturing cost is probably pennies. I get that there are other costs involved, including retailer profit, but still...

If these were more reasonably priced I'd happily buy a few, as it is, I'm sticking with the Ambassador Edition (which I don't particularly care for). The Smash Bros plates that came with it are still sealed for when my case looks too scratched/beat up to tolerate.

They remind me of the faceplates for the GameBoy Micro, many of which that are overpriced and hard to find.

How much do these faceplates cost? I live in America and don't know too much about these.

Between about 1/3 and 2/3's of the price of a new retail game.

Still cant believe they wont release the normal sized new 3ds in NA. If they werent region locked Id import one. But Nintendos stupid policies means they arent getting my money.

I'm baffled for you guys I really am. I really would have thought an American market would lap up the chance to have customisable standard 3DS's but to not give you the option is almost insulting really.

I hope Nintendo of America come to their senses and release them all in the future, though it would probably be too late really you've already had to shell out for an XL.

I do feel that they are a tad expensive. Saying that, I have ambassador plates, ambassador smash plates, Wooden Mario plates, majoras mask plates, black triforce plates and xenoblade monado plates... I cant help myself.....

I'm jealous mate, I just have the red Mario one and the Xenoblade one.

I'm hoping we get the boo ones that Japan have at some point and I want the wooden Mario ones too. Do the wooden ones feel nice?
