Topic: Nintendo 2DS/New 3DS XL Case

Hi.

Back in the day,when the flat 2DS came out Nintendo released a soft carrying case for it but Nintendo did not,as far as i know,released a case for the 3DS/3DS XL/New 3DS XL,i know there is a size difference but as this case is soft can a New 3DS XL fit inside one?

To keep all things Nintendo and as there is no Nintendo official case 3DS case,the Nintendo case for the Nintendo Switch may be used but as it is larder then a 3DS XL and with no straps the unit will slide inside the case,it may be able to able to hold the Nintendo New 3DS XL charger but the game sections may be too short to fit 3ds games in...

I know others,like hori,make 3DS cases but sometimes they are a pain in the neck to find,like the Hori Nes case for the New 3DS XL.

No, the new 3DS XL is too long for it. You may be able to fit it inside, but it won't be a nice fit.

You can find tons of good cases in amazon. They even have one as part of their amazon basics line.

Yes,i thought the same,the size size difference between the too is considerable,the New 3DS XL had to be forced in and it wouldn't end well,i was thinking about using the official Nintendo Switch case as a general purpose case but it may be too soft and due to the free space inside it may not be too stable.

I was hoping there would be someone out there with a Nintendo official 2DS case and a New 3Ds XL that could put this to the test.

I'm testing it with a 2DS XL, which is a tiny bit smaller, and it "fits". It's just not optimal.

I think the reason Nintendo released special 2DS/switch cases is because of their irregular shapes, they had to supply some of their own because third parties didn't have many options at the time of their releases (and the 2DS still doesn't have as many options as the 3DS XL).

There's many Nintendo-approved third party cases you can buy for the new 3DS XL, since it's the same size as the DSi XL and the 3DS XL. Buy one of them, even if it wasn't designed by Nintendo itself, they will work perfectly and protect your console more than a 2DS bag.

I normally like to purchase only Nintendo items too, but I take my 3DS on so many business trips that I had to break down and get an official licensed case. I chose a Power A case. It works great and you can find them with Nintendo branding and characters if you desire that.
