Topic: Nintendo 2DS???

That's exactly what it is...$129.99. Entry level gamers.

I mean I personally considered the budget version of the 3DS to be the regular version and the more Expensive version to be the XL? since in my opinion the XL is superior to the regular 3DS. Nintendo doesnt even advertise their games on the regular 3DS anymore.

You can still take 3D pictures... you just can't view them on your own screen! Haha! haha... ha... boy, do I hate this thing...

Would be nicer if it could bend like it predecessors so it would fit in your pocket lol.

And why not have it fold? WHY NOT HAVE IT FOLD? That's been the best thing about Nintendo handhelds since the GBA SP.

This is their "children version" 3DS . Built like a brick, no hinges to break, and no 3D for those to young. Note in the video the kid is the one only playing on the 2DS.

If you guys hate it so much, don't buy it. It's meant for ages 7 and under anyways.

Bleck, that thing is ugly and looks uncomfortable to hold. The change of the button layout though will be problematic on some games for sure.

At first I thought this was some elaborate troll joke on Nintendo's part, but nope. At least it didn't go the Wii Mini route and had all the online/extra features removed. That would've been really stupid.

@SkywardLink98 I do not know how old you are but "in mah day" we played our portable games on bricks like that, too.

I don't recall saying I was gonna buy it? Hence I give reasons why.
I may be 5, I have my dusty 3ds why would I down grade to that ugly thing. D: And the new button layout would give people problems in certain games as well. Just pointless and can't believe Nintendo would even bother with this what a waste in my view. :3

While I do think the 2DS is a bit odd, I see its purpose. Children 7 and under aren't allowed to use 3D anyway, so it makes sense not to include it. The design, while weird, looks pretty sturdy, as others have already said. I also think it is purposely made to resemble a tablet. I imagine that kids will love the idea playing games on a 'tablet' like mom and dad's. Plus, it's got a reduced price point. It'll take some getting use to, but I can see this getting its own market.
