hey, I was just thinking about super Mario land 1 and 2, about how innovative they were, not so much the first one but the second. I consider those the real successor to the original super Mario bros series (Mario bros 1 lost levels 2 3 and world which is 4) yes new super Mario bros 1 is supposed to be Mario 5 but Mario land came out first. but they should make a successor to it. and I don't mean to rehash the s*** out of it, just like one Mario land game with a lot of innovation but it being in development for a few years, so itll be really good and fairly long. they should make one now and one for the 4ds or whatever itll be called. so, wha do you think?

I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

I ment after everything that's already been announced. Come on now, 4-5 Mario titles either announced or released this year doesn't seem the least bit excessive to you?

1. I believe he was referring to comment #4.

2. Those 4-5 games are all part of different series, which have completely unrelated gameplay mechanics, though. After playing Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon & Mario & Luigi: Dream Team for example, there's no reason to assume you're going to be too fatigued of their formulas to enjoy Super Mario 3D World. The reason being that they are all different genrés, that have completely unrelated gameplay mechanics (the "Mario" paint job is just that, and doesn't suddenly make a JRPG anything like a platformer, kart racer, golf game, or whatever).

I will agree that the core "Super Mario" platforming series has been getting a bit too many releases as of late (mostly in part to the NSMB sub-series), though.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I though Super Mario Land 2 was pretty innovative too. It really broke apart from the usual grassland, desert, water, mountain, lava worlds, and instead offered us a giant robot statue of mario, a giant tree, a giant mansion, a Halloween themed level, a giant turtle, and outer space. I'd love a Mario 64-like title where you get to explore the mushroom kingdom a bit more and rediscover these unique locations.

But I wants a Wario Land.. or maybe a Wario World.. I did like Super Mario Land though... in a way I thought they were better than the console versions coming out at that time.. but I would still do a Wario first.. I mean if you are going to make that kind of game..

"Wario's New Land"?

...I seriously hope they don't put "new" into any more of their titles...

I think that in the past they made the mario games I wanted to play. Lucky for me I feel they are making the mario games I want to play today with stuff like NSLU SM3DL and SM3DW for console. Lucky me:)

I just want the punching and other features from mario 64 that set it apart from a regular mario games comes back at the next 3D marios it's boring to see just more "just like in the old one but now in 3D"....(but not like galaxy it was great but it got old and tiring too fast by the second one)
or something new, I just don't think 2D mario mechanics mix well with 3D mario(and YES I'm talking about that world map that connects the stages!).....
