I just said Happy birthday to the game. And I feel that little bit happier inside.

You're not alone. I've said Happy Birthday to plenty of Pokemon games before.
HGSS and BW were the main ones.

It was fun for me, but other than NSMB Wii this was the only NSMB game I played. I actually liked it alot better the NSMB Wii and I still play it from time to time especially the coin rush DLC. Still have to get the one million gold coin goal.

I love this game... I got this game the day that the 3DS XL was released... or whenever NSMB2 was released, whichever one came last, because I got them both on the same day. I still haven't beaten the game yet, I'm still only half way through World 6. I should finish it either this week or the next. I haven't played it since earlier this Winter.

SMWorld was Mario last creative 2D outing

I want to know how Super Mario Land 2 and New Super Mario Brothers weren't creative games, and New Super Mario Brothers 2 isn't an identical experience, if anything it's coin theme makes it the only NSMB sequel that actually stands out.

If I had to sum up this game in a few words, it would be fun, but overall forgettable. It was a fine game in my book, but nothing about it really stands out aside from the focus on coins, which I do admit is a nice addition. I like it more than the original NSMB, but it was unnecessary.

Iirc the 3DS XL and NSMB2 came out the same day.

I remember when I got this not long after I got my XL. It was fun, but a bit forgettable. It isn't as bad as SML1, but it isn't the best 2D Mario either. Out of the 4 NSMB games, this one felt like it had the least time and energy put into it. But I still liked it.

This seems like the most pointless thread ever.

"Hey! This game came out a year ago!"

Okay? And?
