TWO GAMES?! That's too much!
NINTENDO DO IS DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

Too frequent, yes.

Well, then I guess you should quit almost playing every major franchise, as they release games just as frequently.

TOO MANY GOOD GAMES ARE BEING MADE. HOW AWFUL. I HATE GAMES.

If you hate games so much, what are you doing around here? Silly.

I don't know. Definitely not because of the existence of sarcasm.

If the Kirby Compilation has Return to Dreamland, I'll be so glad I've held off on buying that one. I'm also hoping for Crystal Shards, as I never bought that one off the VC.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I hope the Kirby Wii compilation includes a Wiimote controlled port of Kirby's Air Ride from Gamecube.

Hmm... I don't know.

I loved NSMB on the Wii, but I found the original DS game to have the blandest level design in the history of Mario's main series. Now, if NSMB2 were to take a cue from SMB2 and feature a crazy, imaginative alternate world filled with all the odd elements from that black-sheep classic, I'd be all over it. But if it uses all the same art assets as the first game, what's the dang point?

I thought so as well, and I sold the game after playing through it the first time. However I was then forced to go back to it to create a guide showing all of the Star Coins for work (www.videogamesblogger, now my former gig) and you know what happened? I fell in love with it. I don't know, I think it's like with a music album.... often times, such as with Flyleaf's Sophomore effort Memento Mori, I didn't like that album until I listened to it beginning to end and then some for the FIFTH time. And then I loved it. Same with NSMB DS, not until I was forced to get every Coin did I somehow come to the realization that it was actually brilliantly designed. Because I had the SAME exact opinion as you, in so much that I hated the game and thought it was THE worst thing Nintendo had ever done (I should add that I never have, still, gotten around to playing the Wii version). But I ended up changing my tune.

And now that my tune has changed, I'm thinking I should revisit Yoshi's Island DS, cause I had the same opinion about that game when I first played through it for my review: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2007/05/10/marios-pal-yoshi-...

My chief complaint with both games, and some of Nintendo's more recent titles, were that they weren't memorable. NSMB DS was like the epitomy of that. And I still think so, although now I no longer think the level design was horrible. Although BLAND, I do think I agree with you there for the most part. But I still think you should think about revisiting it and really playing through it with the goal of finding all the Coins, and see if your opinion changes.

NSMB2: That's about as fun as watching paint dry.
Kirby Compilation: If this game has Kirby's Dreamland 1-3, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby Super Star, Kirby 64, and Kirby Air Ride, and maybe a few of the DS games(if that's possible) then this could be the greatest compilation game since Sonic Mega Collection.

So many good games, so little money to spend.

As cool as a Kirby compilation is, I doubt I'll get it, since I already own most of the Kirby games I want. Plus, I doubt many, if any, of the great handheld Kirby games would make an appearance, aside from maybe the first two Dream Land games. And I'd imagine Canvas Curse, Mass Attack and Tilt 'n' Tumble would be lessened by a Wii conversion, anyway.

The inclusion of Kirby's Return to Dreamland would certainly change matters, but I highly doubt Nintendo would include such a recent game.

So excited for the Kirby collection! I hope Kirby's Air Ride is on there!

@Swiket, nice try

Anyways, about New Super Mario Bros. 2, I'll say what I commented on the Nintendolife announcement of the game :

If they do this right, it can be good. I don't have a problem with there being another New Super Mario Bros. game, although the brand isn't my favorite. What I have a problem with is that there could be 2 New Super Mario Bros. games released in the same year, which would be ridiculous. If it was just this game, and then something different for the Wii U, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. Considering though, that the New Super Mario Bros. games really don't differ from each other much, going from this game to the Wii U one will feel very more of the same. I just hope the one on Wii U is creative, and doesn't use this brand name, because that would be a big mistake on Nintendo's part.

At least I agree with you on one thing.

@astrotriforce I'm pretty sure I got every single star coin before I sold it (getting them all unlocked backgrounds for the touch screen, right?), but that didn't change my opinion on the game, and in fact helped inform it.

What about Peach and Daisy being playable? Maybe Bowser stole ALL THE COINS and made an army of gold, and now the Mushroom Kingdom is in an economic crisis so everyone INCLUDING THE PRINCESSES has to stomp on baddies.

Then they wake up and it was all a dream, and WaveBoy is happy.

This I would buy.

So if it hits in August, they must surely be pretty far along in development. Why choose those 4 terrible screenshots? Show me something new and unexpected, Iwata!

Give me some more surprises, like riding the Bonecoaster and the flying little red guys used as platforms, and then we'll talk. Of course those two levels were secret in NSMB Wii.

If this disappoints (or rather continues to), at least I still have Runner2.

New Super Mario Bros. on DS was way too easy, easiest Mario game I've ever played. Where was the challenge? It just shows how the "New" brand is directed towards the younger / casual audience. Although, the Wii one did amp up the difficulty later on in my opinion.

I remembered the Wii version more than the DS. Mainly because it had a lot of Super Mario World moments...and I kinda enjoyed that. xD
But I still kinda wished they would let go of the "New" theme though, guess that's not happening soon. :/

i see what you mean i too was hoping for a trailer then a heard an august release date and thought there definatly going to show a trailer. all they did was tell us the name and the only important screenshot was the one with the racoon suit. but it may have not been in development for long because it will use the same controls as the DS version and it looks as though it uses the same character design from the wii version, all they had to do really was design the levels and make a story and there done.

i am hades true leader of the underworld. i must bid you ado
