@TheDreamingHawk I agree with this, to an extent. While I'm the kind of person who unlocks everything in brawl without a hammer, I can see how someone might need one so they can just move on. I can see where you're both coming from though. :3
But on topic, collecting all these coins is a pain! @[email protected]

I can't see where anyone has said this yet, but the thing that irritates me the most is that the platforming is simple. The challenge, for me at least, is running around looking for hidden coins and secret exits. Frankly, I put the game down for about a week because I was sick of the scavenger-hunt mentality. The older Mario games are much better platformers, IMO.

I did notice that too. I remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 and World and always being alert when there were enemies around me and always jumping with precision. Not saying I never did that with this game, but it was much more easier and chill. So most the time I was only truly challenged to go on a hunt to find star coins and hidden paths. Not a bad game, in fact I had fun playing it, it's just not up to the quality of the original 2D platformers. But Nintendo wasn't really trying to do that here anyways.

@-KwB- NSMB2 doesn't have internet play, only local... o_o

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit actually, but as @Burning_Spear said, it's more of a gold hunt rather than a normal Mario platformer, I'm playing it as a platformer more than anything else and that's probably where I'm going wrong. The game is still a heap of fun but I do wish it wasn't based on coins so much... but at least they changed up the game which is what everyone kind of wanted I suppose.

I'll say it again, the coin theme is brilliant. It makes me go back to levels I wouldn't normally play again. It's also just a ton of fun collecting them. I'm glad a NSMB game finally did something that makes it its own.

Well you don't seem to get much for getting a million coins in the first place so I'm not in a rush to be getting a million so far.

I've gotten 5 streetpass hits for this game so far, and nobody's had an impressive coin rush record at all.

I mean come on it's not hard to just do a lot of coin plentiful activities in the stages, gold rings, coins etc, or get the 2x coin multiplier at the end.
Even if you don't have the gold flower when you start, these guys are only managing just over a thousand before they get the guaranteed 2x bonus at the end of a fortress or castle level.

I streetpassed someone with a 600-coin score this morning, and it was downtown, so I doubt it was a kid. They used the tail, just like everyone else I've streetpassed so far. These people are going to take a while to reach a million coins at this rate.

I don't know whether to get this game or Super Mario 3D Land. Help, please?

Also, is the co-op single card?

You'll need a copy of the game for each player, for Co-Op

I still think 3D Land is much more than NSMB2,it's a much longer game, with some brilliant designed levels.
If you prefer 3D Mario's,get 3D Land,.
If you prefer 2D Mario's get NSMB2.
