Topic: New Spotpass Puzzle! 3DS Puzzle Swap

So far we'll get every puzzle Japan got, except the airport thing and maybe not the BigMac one

I don't know. I live in Japan, and just walking to the store I would get like 5-6 new puzzle pieces a day from people. I usually connect with nearly a dozen if I go to the mall, or especially if I go to a game center or on of the other really busy areas of my town. If I go to Tokyo, I'm likely to get 15-20. I finished all the puzzles pretty quickly. They wanted people to travel with their 3DSs, and in Japan, people do. I guess its a cultural thing.

I know the US has 50 states, and Canada has 13 provinces. Japan has 47 prefectures. Just for a reference, I never really go outside the Kanagawa/Tokyo area, but I already connected with people from 32 of the prefectures. That's how easy it is to connect with people here (Spotpass you said its called in English?). I think so far I have 600+ Miis in my Mii centre (not sure what its called in English, we call it Mii Hiroba).

Yeah Japan...

In the US the most StreePasses I get in a day is 5, and that was in Chicago, but in my home town I'm lucky to get 2 or 3 in one day, I remember watching a video on YouTube of a guy in Japan walking with his 3DS just a month after it was released and got like 6 StreePasses in going to the store, people here might have a 3DS but it doesn't seem like they take it with them...

@Tsuchinoko In america the service is called streetpass and the centre is called streetpass mii plaza. Spotpass is the service in which nintendo distributes free in-game content through the Internet (such as the weapon gems you get from palutena in kid Icarus uprising)

I live near (a few miles east of) Columbus, OH. Where I am is where suburban and rural meet with me being in the rural area, kinda like a border town before you start seeing the city. So in other words, where I'm at is a far, far cry from a place like Tokyo or Chicago.

@wingedfish, yes i know about the japan only puzzle panels, the two i mentioned in my last post will unlikely ever come out of japan.
with regard to any game related panels, there`s always the possability that they`ll come over if and when nintendo release those games in the west.

@dizzy_boy so if I street passed someone vacationing in America from japan, I wouldnt have the option to get the puzzle?

@Happy_Mask from what i`ve read so far, at the moment we can`t get the extra panels that japan has via street pass because they`re region locked.
it`s unlikely that all of them will come out of japan either.
the best way to know what panels will come over is to check release dates for new games. any panel that japan has for games that will be released in the west, the chances are going to be pretty high that we`ll get eventualy get those panels aswell.

@Dizzy_boy And that's why I posted the thing about the recent first-party game releases. That'll show what games have the potential to get puzzles, and in effect, go to other regions.

Actually, the two non-game puzzles are ending this month, the McDonald's one of the 13th, and the ANA one on the 30th. They were just special promotions. McDonald's might get other ones eventually though, since they always have some kind of deal with Nintendo.

I got real lucky with Streetpass on Saturday.
Went down town to download the Keldeo event pokémon, wandered around whilst I was at it.

I got 6 streetpass hits on my 3DS XL, and 5 on my old 3DS.
Together I was able to get 5 new pink pieces for the Kirby anniversary puzzle in one day, that was awesome.
2 pieces from the same two people, haha.

@RupeeClock Hey, I wanted to ask, when you connect with the same person a 2nd or 3rd time, what does it ask you? In Japan it's something to the effect of "What do you think of this person?" and you can say "Very good" or "so-so".

Us it translates to either FANTASTIC or Ok, but it's basicly the same thing

Long time since we had a new puzzle. I'd like a nice big update to include puzzles from the recent first party games:

Culdcept 3D
Calciobit
New Art Academy
Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode
Tobidase Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing)
Pokemon Dungeon

Of course I really hope that when Paper Mario Super Sticker and Luigi's Mansion 2 come out, they get puzzles too.

I assume they'll be trying to advertise Paper Mario with a new puzzle shortly. I'm only missing 2 pink pieces, and it seems like they always release a new puzzle around the time I'm finishing them.

I've got all the regular pieces for my puzzles, but only the Ocarina of Time and Kid Icarus: Uprising ones (excluding those that don't require special slots) are actually complete... I'm extremely lucky if I even get one StreetPass (I take my 3DS everywhere), and at that nobody ever has any pink pieces to give me when I do get one. It's very frustrating.

Hopefully I'll get some when I go into some airports in a few weeks (going on vacation).

The thing about Japan is, a lot more people carry around their gaming devices everywhere, whereas in the U.S. it's Smart Phones instead.

They each go with last years titles respectfully Paper Mario and Mario kart being released in Japan on the day we got the update, the 2 Mario titles out during the holidays, an already out wii game, a game coming soon to wii, and a 3DS launch title not as a puzzle already

I expect many puzzles in November - March to promote Wii U games.
