Topic: "NEW" Nintendo 3DS turned out to be nothing but a nintendo cash grab

The New Nintendo 3ds was released in NA Feb 2015. Its May 2016 and we have 1 3ds game that takes advantage of the new hardware and 10 super nintendo games. How sad is that. I would have never invested in a "NEW" 3ds if I knew a whole year later there would be 1 3ds game that takes advantage of this new hardware. So I paid all that money all over again for a 3ds for 11 different games over a whole year.

Maybe im wrong but that seems like a cash grab by Nintendo to me and I feel way more shafted spending that money on a "New" 3ds then my wii u.

Nintendo does everything it does for money.

Anyway, it was just an optional upgrade, not a total replacement.

Ignoring the millions of people who have 3DSs and did not upgrade would be like... Not wanting money.

@komatsu: actually a few games take advantage of the new hardware, they just aren't exclusive to the new hardware. Smash loads faster, Hyrule Warriors Legends runs at acceptable performance, etc.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

It was nothing more than a slight upgrade. Nintendo made that clear, and I'm not sure what you were expecting.

They also run on 3ds. I did not get a game I couldnt play play on the 3ds anyway. Even if "less" featured. That is not a good enough reason for me to invest another 200 usd in a system. We got 1 game out of it. 1 thats it.

If no one else feels hosed. Thats fine and on me. But nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank. I clearly shouldnt of invested in better hardware when there was no plans to use it.

I'm glad to see my response made you post this dank thread.

Really though, you're complaining about a thing Nintendo has been doing for over twenty years. If you feel burned trade it in and buy a ps vita.

Uhm, also, for the record? The improved 3D is a pretty big deal. Just saiyan.

The N3DS is an upgrade to the 3DS and I thought that was obvious. What did you expect, an entirely new console? It's called the "New 3DS", not Nintendo [Insert new Handheld name here].

I'm happy with mine. I knew going into it that it wasn't going to be a huge upgrade, but more along the lines of the DSi. It's not a huge leap forward, but the small improvements over the normal 3DS/XL are enough for me.

I would suggest reading up a little more on these things before you go and make a big purchase like this. We weren't really promised a range of games specifically for the N3DS.

Yes, I like bears.

Eh, I had an original 3DS for a few years. I sold it and bought the New XL for about $80, which I'll have for another few years. I don't feel shafted.
