I was in a Best Buy yesterday, and aside from the 3DS demo not working, the price they had on the 3DS was still $249.99. Then I look in this weeks K-Mart ad and it still has the 3DS listed as $249.99. Now, I'm pretty sure that if you bought a 3DS at one of those stores, it would ring up as $169.99, but shouldn't they be promoting it as such? These stores aren't helping themselves or Nintendo's new plan to sell 3DSs. They should have a huge sign saying "3DS $169.99!!!" Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't been there yet, but Nintendo will no doubt start marketing this for the holiday season, but they may also be spacing out this price drop from their summer $99 DS Lite campaign so that people won't confuse the two. Give it a week or two and the issue should sort itself out.
I know, but you think stores would be fighting for your business, seeing as this is the first week of it's lowered price.

Gamestop is evidently doing well, I did not even say a thing to the parents at church and this kid I know got one. I spent most of the time optimizing his Streetpass.
Gamestop has a huge sign on their door when I went yesterday.
I'm sure there will be more ads at other places soon!
We did a quick walkthrough of a Gamestop at one of my local malls in hopes of getting a quick streetpass hit. We didn't get a hit, but we did notice quite a bit of the $169.99 advertising as well as a lady buying a 3DS for her daughter that looked to be about 9 or 10 years old.
I think the stores should be promoting the Price Drop, but seeing as Amazon UK ran out of stock of the Aqua Blue 3DS by 3 on the day of the price drop, I don't think the 3DS will be needing it.
Nintendo has two new tv spots that talk about the price drop. All of the Canadian websites that I have looked at, including, Gamestop, Best Buy, Future Shop, Amazon.ca, Video Games Plus and Walmart had the lower price advertised. It might just take them awhile to get the price drop advertised. It's only been 3 days since the price dropped. The funny thing is out of all of those websites i mentioned only 3 had the Flame Red 3DS for preorder (Best Buy, Future Shop and Video Games Plus).
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
The Toys R Us I went to advertised the 3DS with the new price. Amazon has the Flame Red 3DS front and center with the blue and black closed behind. Kinda reminds me of the DSi Magenta color being released around the same time now back in 2009 with the white DSi along-side it.
Yeah, that is weird. I mean, I wouldn't have known there even was a price drop if it hadn't been for this site (and emails from Nintendo, since I'm in Club Nintendo). What I'm trying to say is, if I were just some guy, who wanted a 3DS, I would not know it costs less now.
C'mon Nintendo! You make some radical price drop hoping to boost sales, AND YOU DON'T EVEN ADVERTISE IT ON TV!? (in the United States)
^I lost respect for the wench some years back when she seemed to be directed by her bosses, or hit her head, whatever it may be and decided to be the staff anti-Nintendo tool. She seems to say progressively more ignorant, damning and demeaning comments when it comes to the company and sadly worse those 'stupid' enough to buy from the company. I'd quote stuff but googling her and nintendo or some modifier will pull up plenty of crass insults and really dumb and uninformed comments such as her lame rants against SMB Wii among others. It doesn't surprise me one bit she'd dismiss 400000 3DS fans/owners as nobodies, yet I imagine if it were a PSP, Vita, or PSN based title she'd probably try and rally the support as she's two faced like that. IT's just a sign of the times of how amazingly shallow, ignorant and worse than high school clique like the gaming industry and the media mouth piece outlets really are. Back in the day of the Nintendo-Sega 16bit wars it was lighthearted and in jest, but it's just downright vicious and mean stuff now.
