I mean...to be fair, there doesn't seem to be any game even remotely interesting that relied heavily on the Stylus on the 3DS besides Uprising (and I didn't even like that game), at least ones where the nub won't make a decent replacement, so I don't think I'd have to worry the way I did on the DS.
Theatrhythm. (Yeah, I know there's a button control scheme, but who wants that?)
Way to go NoA. You might have lost a New 3DS buyer already...
Maybe it's just because I'm a bit younger or I just have smaller hands, but the XL just feels too large and too heavy. The normal 3DS has always been a good fit for me, and I don't see why Nintendo can't sell even one regular model here. As if people with smaller hands only exist in Europe, Australia, and Japan?
But on the plus side, I have been considering keeping my old normal 3DS — I could keep the old one for trips and keep the N3DSXL around the house. The red color also looks very nice.... But with the release right around the corner, and no regular N3DS in sight, I'll have to wait for a long while until I'm sure they canned the regular model and I have no other options.
"Less choice is more choice?"
Nicely said, @BinaryFragger.
This is unfair, Nintendo Of America should give us customers more choices. Then Nintendo has the balls and says this ---http://mynintendonews.com/2015/01/14/nintendo-america-explains-why-standard-new-nintendo-3ds-is-skipping-north-america/

I really wanted the smaller model but I guess I will just trade in my Pokemon XL towards the black one. just not sure I want to get it at EB Games Canada because they want $229.99 for the XL models and $259.99 for the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate bundle. Not going to happen here.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
It's just a really odd decision. I realize that the XL is the hot seller here but clearly they're are plenty of people who still want the smaller model. I don't know why they're assuming we won't be interested in the smaller, customizable New 3DS.
Nintendo is really out of touch sometimes. After all, this is the same company who in 2004 said "customers do not want online games."
Lol, I remember that.

I use the Buttons all the time...it's a lot easier than the touch controls, actually, especially after playing a lot of Project Diva...
Nintendo Of America is the main problem with Nintendo as a whole. (The European part lacks the resources / power to mess up and change things that shouldn't be changed and that has always been the case).
God d***it Nintendo, nice going. UGH! I really, really wanted the smaller unit, I have no qualms against the XL its just I want a smaller handheld and don't you dare tell to go get an original or 2DS! Both are inferior to Old XL, the New XL and the New 3DS (Classic style). Ugh, very very upset. If the Majora New 3DS XL hits amazon tomorrow I might preorder it...might. Either way, I can always cross my fingers and hold out until June. Still that certainly frees up money for Majora, I'd just much rather play it on a New 3DS (that is small)

Nintendo on the lack of the regular model:
"Different territories make their own business decisions regarding individual products and timing. We think New Nintendo 3DS XL makes the most sense for our market. Nintendo makes different systems at different price points for a whole range of consumers, and New Nintendo 3DS XL simply expands those choices even further."
It's PR bullcrap for "we're trying to save ourselves the resources of having to distribute and market two variations by shoving one choice down everyone's throats."
Am I the only one that's getting the Monster Hunter n3ds xl bundle just because it's the best looking one out of all of them?! The red and the MM one just look plain bad in my opinion. And the black one is just boring. This will be my first monster hunter so I hope I can get into the series.
P.S. Like most of you I am a bit disappointed that no regular new 3ds will be released at this time. Was actually considering going from my old xl to it for the awesome faceplates.
This is a real disappointment as they have pretty much lost a sale as of now. I have been waiting on the announcement of a release date, only to have this bs pulled. >_>
More love for my 2DS I guess, seeing how I won't be replacing it soon,
This is pretty much how I feel. I've been using my 2DS for a while now, so I could get back into 3D the enhanced 3D on the N3DS, but looks like that isn't happening... so I will just continue with my 2DS for the foreseeable future it seems.
Strange choice. I can imagine there are some people who like Amiibo will spend more on Faceplates than somebody getting pretty much all the big retail games. (Just the first batch of plates has the same cost as the system in the UK).
