Topic: NEW 3DS is broken; please help

My 3DS has Homebrew installed. I'm unsure if this is a relevant topic, but my sister suggested it may be because of this. Perhaps it's important that I regularly remove the SD card.

I've had it a long time but just recently it's started to act up. It would glitch out sometimes and the screen would go black, starting just after I left it in sleep mode a bit too long. Now, it doesn't turn on / stay working for more than a minute, and instead of black, the top screen will be half black and half grey. I'm so afraid my 3DS isn't going to work anymore. Also relevant is that the blue light is the only light on, the internet light doesn't go on if it starts up originally with a black screen.

Should I send it into Nintendo, or whatever, to get it fixed? Is there a way to fix it manually without having to do that?

Homebrew voids warranty, and Nintendo is hardcore anti-piracy/hacking. I'm not scolding, just giving you a heads up.

If it's not turning on, I know you can get issues if you ran the battery all the way down. If you've run it all the way down, you need to leave it plugged in charging for a while in order to get enough charge for to run the 3ds. How old is your 3ds battery? Wondering if your battery has degraded. Just a theory.

Wifi cold have ended up disabled as part of running battery all the way down. I'm assuming you know wifi can be toggled on & off in the settings menu, just below he brightness setting.

You may, or may not get responses to technical questions on here, based on what I've seen. Some on here will just say, you voided warranty, and not much else. The only other thing I'd mention is, Nintendo's website has good troubleshooting support. You can search their support, describing your issue, like "3ds won't stay on", "half gray screen", "half black screen", or "only blue light". You could call their customer support, which is excellent, describe your issue. You know, maybe your issue isn't homebrew related, and they are familiar with resolving your issue. It could happen. But obviously don't say homebrew. You could also be right assessing that it's homebrew related. If it is homebrew related, you may be out of luck. Thats the risk you take with homebrew.

@katethecat
Never ever buy jailbroken 3DS !
You will regret after that.
