I've only ever had scratching issues with the original model. The XL never gave me that problem
I had that problem on my original 3DS and my XL
I never had problems with either because as soon as I opened both up I put those screen protectors on. I'll be doing the same with the New 3DS XL (assuming my New 3DS ambassador edition replacement is faulty)
I never put screen protectors on my top screens. Only the bottom ones or obvious reasons. That being said, I've never had problems with scratches on my top screen so I'm not sure what you guys are doing exactly?

You crazy! It's not worth that much to me to upgrade. I understand having to try to get the money but is it really worth those games to upgrade?

If you trade in your old XL, they'll give you $100 towards the "New" 3DS. To me that seems like a great deal and it gets you half way. Do you plan on playing your old XL after getting the new one?

If you don't play them, you should trade them in. At least you get something for them even if it's not much.

Just a heads up, Amazon France is taking pre-orders on N3DSes and XLs for 15€ less than SRP (154.75€ and 184.99€) since yesterday. I already canceled my pre-orders on Amazon Spain and Italy. It seems Amazon France is the way to go on Nintendo-related hardwares and softwares when it comes to pricing base on personal experience.
I might hold off to see if NoA caves in and released the standard model. Still kinda bummed about that, I want those faceplates. How does NoA not see the money in that?
