I like how it looks a lot like a phone. I think a lot of youngin's will want this.

@amiiboacid I was thinking about getting a New Nintendo 3ds, but now I think I will get this when it comes out, if I still love my 2ds. I have a Switch so maybe not

I like the way it looks, slightly cooler than 3DS (I've never used the 3d function anyway). Although that came out of blue, I wish Nintendo would rather fully focused on Switch now

Wow, proof that Nintendo plans to keep the 3DS a little while longer. I'll pass, as this is their 6th 3DS variation now?

@Spoony_Tech For those who want luxery. But not too much luxery. Just the right amount.

Also for those so defiantly against having a 3D system because of the extra cost it brings that they've waited this long to get one; while passing on the 2DS for how uncool it looked.

I will admit it looks better then the new 3ds as far as how slick it looks but I thought the original purpose was for kids to use and abuse?? Let's see them abuse this.

Oh and it's about time they leveled out the bottom screen so it will never scratch the top screen ever again!!!

It looks cheap and ugly, but it comes with a charger at least. And when most games don't even include the 3D functionality, this might be a good solution, provided it's a lot cheaper.

Why does it have two cameras though?

To stay compatible with AR software and to take 3D pictures (which is an integral part of the camera app).

Why is this topic in the 3DS eShop thread/forum?

Another garbage 3DS variant by Nintendo. If you noticed, the 2DS in the video had dual IPS displays. So right off the bat Nintendo is falsely advertising their crappy product. Oh and of course goodluck with getting one with IPS panels cause when this thing comes out it'll almost certainly have TN panels attached to it.

Octane

@link-the-volnutt I think that's the reason why they don't specify TN or IPS in the product specs...

Octane

@Octane so falsely advertising their product with a screen it may or may not have (95% chance of it not having IPS) is okay cause they didn't specify what screen type it has? seems logical.

link-the-volnutt

Octane

@link-the-volnutt I'm not saying that. I only said they don't specify the screen you get. It's a shady practise, but it's not false advertisement.

Poor sucker nintendo fanboy: Oh, mommy, MOMMY, LOOK! Nintendo made a new 2DS! It's so cool mommy! Look at the screen! it's so colorful and sharp looking! I want one! I want one!

A week later

Mom: What's the matter, Jimmy? You don't seem to be using your new Nintendo anymore. Is something the matter? Is it broken perhaps? Want me to take it to the store later to get it fixed?

Poor sucker nintendo fanboy: Sigh, no mommy... It's just that... sob when I saw it in the commercial a week ago, the screen was gorgeous and colorful, but now that it's here in right front of me, the screen is a blurry pixelated washed out mess.

Mom: smiling That's Nintendo for you! They're the pioneers of false advertising!

ba dum tiss!

@link-the-volnutt I guess that kid also complained when Mario didn't jump out of his original 3DS..

Look, I agree with you to an extent. There's a bit of irony in the fact that Nintendo, the company who's known for the high quality product, slaps a cheaper screen on their handheld device without telling you and calls it a day. I also wish you could differentiate between the two models without opening the box (different serial number perhaps?). On the other hand, Nintendo never advertised the 3DS having an IPS or TN screen, so they're not lying... It's shady, but not illegal.

But anyway, this topic has been discussed to death, so I'll stop here.
