Topic: Need a new battery for Original 3DS. Can You Recommend Sellers?

I've had my 3ds for a long time. How long? I literally bought it one week before Nintendo initiated the price-drop. I got some GBA games but I still felt a little sickened.

But now after years of hard use the battery on the system is starting to falter. In the past two weeks it deteriorated to such an extent that it doesn't even last 45 mins (this is with screen brightness of 3 and wireless functions turned off) before it needs to be charged again.

This leads me to the conclusion that a new battery is necessary and I'm looking to order one at the same time as Pokémon Sun; playing a new game for just over 30 min bursts would not be so fun.

Sadly I'm having trouble finding retailers who have official Nintendo batteries to replace them with. I've tried Amazon.uk, Smyths, Base and Ebay but with little avail. To this end I was hoping that perhaps some of you have some recommendations for where I might get a suitable replacement as I have invested a lot of money into my 3ds and have no plans to get a New 3DS anytime soon.

As always I appreciate any constructive help. Thanks!

There was this big long-lasting battery from Hong Kong I remember buying on eBay before I got my New 3ds. It was $28.00 Canadian and worked like a dream and not as bulky as the Nyko battery. Sadly I can't find the same one but there are 5000 mah batteries on eBay...but you need to look for good reviews before buying, mine was 98% positive.

I've bought some things from sellers in Hong Kong, though one or two games I bought on the cheap were clearly knock-offs (Fire Emblem GBA and Pokémon LeafGreen to name two) which is why I wanted to approach the eBay marketplace as a last resort. I'll dig around for some sellers though, you never know what you might find.

Thanks all the same!

Have you checked the Nintendo online store? They have spare parts there. I found they had a GBA Battery so I don't think it is that far-fetched to think they may have spares.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Was going to say this, I'd just get it from Nintendo themselves.

@Luna_110 The American site certainly has the facility to replace most equipment, but the UK site (which is what I'm linked to, being from Ireland) only has a Wii U Gamepad battery for sale. Also, under the repair and warranty tab there is no option to order replacement parts for the 3ds, but for the original DS there is.

So I'm feeling a little stuck to be honest.
