in cant imagine playing FPS on the 3DS because it simply isnt powerful enough. /shrug
The power of the 3DS exceeds that of the Wii, and even the Wii has quite a few FPS's. It's more of a problem of console design that doesn't fit the image of an FPS on the 3DS.
crap wii style fps graphics on a tiny little screen ... no thanks ... i will stick with halo & killzone on my 360 / PS3 ... tbh wouldnt even play FPS on my future vita.
If you hate Wii and 3DS graphics so much, then why do you even have those systems? Go enjoy your hardcore PS3/Xbox 360 games.
I think this would be the best possible thing to happen to the 3DS. The Circle Pad Pro would actually give it more control options than the PSVita. I mean, it won't make people that play console FPSs with the 360 and PS3 want to buy a 3DS (they'll most likely still go for the Vita), but it would be a huge revolution in handheld gaming.
Sorry, what? The PS Vita has dual analog sticks on it. And none of them need to be bought and bunged on to the handheld via a hideous extra peripheral (cough, cough).
Not to hate on anything or whatever, but really, FPS's on the 3DS aren't exactly the brightest idea, looking at it from a distance. There's a reason nobody has tried this during the 9 months the handheld's been out, and for obvious reason too. To take a random example, Call of Duty being announced for Vita is not because of perceived hardcore gaming nepotism, but rather because of its more befitting image on it.
call of duty will be on 3ds just mw3 wasnt because by the time the 3ds was announced mw3 was beta and just needed last touches

No, that's the CoD games. Besides, the discussion here is controls -_-'
u wont get many fps on the 3ds anyway because they work best on consoles (& the game devs know it) but if i had 2 choose the best control method it would be that CPP addon.
The Vita has dual analog sticks, the PS3 controller has dual analog sticks. That was the only thing holding FPS games back on handhelds. And don't mention graphics, cause the Vita is pretty much a portable PS3.

I don't see FPSs being the main reason for the extra analog. Dual analogs work great for camera control in 3D platformers though, something most nintendo platformers are bad at.
If we could all please focus on the topic at hand and not take pot-shots at each other, that'd be swell. And for those of you with 'better stuff 2 do', please, by all means go and do it as opposed to attempting to pick a fight in here. Thank you! :3

Nobody expected MW3 to be on the 3DS in the first place. If CoD really was showing hope of coming to the 3DS, they would have announced a new title for it by now. It's what they've done with the Vita (which isn't even out yet), after all, and that announcement was even before the release of MW3.
Also, why's everyone suddenly focusing on CoD as the only FPS that may hit the 3DS? Think an upgraded Conduit sequel or something; that'd lighten up the feeling of a pretty swell chance of success.

Actually the 3DS DOES have more control options. Not counting the touchscreen since the PSVita already has two, I was referring to the fact that the CPP adds not only a right analog function but also gives the system four shoulder buttons (R, L, Zr, and Zl.)
And by the way, you never said... Why haven't FPSs been released on the 3DS in the 9 months its been out.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
That's the thing, I'd rather use stylus controls for a first person title, not dual analog. There should be an option for both so everybody will be happy.
I'd rather use pointer controls, but you can't do that on a handheld (yet).

I don't like the idea of FPS on a handheld. The screen is too small, even on a PS Vita the screen is too small.
Most FPS games NEED multiplayer support. If you're going to play multiplayer, you might as well play on console with a bigger t.v. screen. That being said, the CPP is the perfect tool to help the 3DS if that is the path they want to take.

But the 3DS also has gyro aiming, which works pretty well in Ocarina of Time 3D.
I understand how people like the idea. It is interesting to think of the various ways to use 2 screens and/or touchscreen. Gyro aiming is a great idea as well. I personally do not like the idea due to the small screen size. I have a hard enough time seeing on my 32" sceen playing COD on XBOX 360, lol. I very well may be the minority though.
Wow, seriously why do people care so much about graphics? Most fun I have is still playing GoldenEye on my N64.
When it comes to FPS' on the 3DS I hope they allow you to use the slider/touchscreen combo, much like the D-pad/touchscreen combo of the DS which was brilliant in my opinion. I'm not a fan of dual analogue. I find it difficult to use.

Because that is the only reason companies make new video game systems. If graphics aren't important, then there would be no reason to upgrade. 2D games would still have 8-bit graphics, and 3D games would still have PS1/Saturn graphics.
