With the exciting footage of the Nintendo AR Games (Augmented Reality) it is my sincere desire and speculation that we might see Nintendo implement something like or in the vein of the gone but not forgotten Tamagotchi through the Nintendo ARG for the 3DS.

For example 3DS owners could visit participation stores such as McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Del Taco, Subway, Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, GameStop, Target, K-Mart, Best Buy, New Leaf Market, Whole Foods Market and Babbages to only name a few and purchase the Augmented Reality Game Cards Tamagotchi and acquire pets and interact with and raise them or even trade them at Nintendo Zone hotspots across the nation and around the world.

I really like the Tamagotchi's of the past I think they could have a real revival in the AR Games of the 3DS.

Nnooo I refuse to raise virtual pets. I had more than enough of them in primary school thanks.

Having to pay to get new pets is even worse than Tamagotchi or Digimon, where at least you just bought the machine and could raise and evolve your pet as it suited you.

Well from what Nintendo has said at the 3DS conference of September 29th, 2010 there will be creatures and AR Cards already in your Nintendo 3DS box when you buy it. So you won't actually have to PURCHASE a thing to get a pet. Furthermore, according to Nintendo of Japan you'll be able to get pets by simply going to a McDonalds and downloading "free" pets to your 3DS. However, Nintendo Power has yet to confirm if that feature will be implemented in the good ole USA but I'm sure the confirmation is coming seeing as how Digimon and sadly Pokemon is still majorly popular in the USA.

Yes, me to. I e-mailed Nintendo about that and the lady that responded to me about that hinted that they've been getting that request from a lot of fans and she said that Nintendo of Japan is working on that but that nothing has been confirmed for the North American audience as of yet. So, we can hope I guess. (X_X)

wouldn't it be cool if you and a friend could run around the house with their 3DSs, playing a game, that uses the AR feature, where you shoot at eachother. You would shoot at the person on camera, and the person would see lasers coming at them on their screen.

3DS and Wii U on day one.

Why did you e-mail Nintendo? You're not gonna get any solid info from them :P

This kind of thing will be more successful in Japan, but I dunno if it would work in the US

It's a good idea. :) I wouldn't get Tamagotchi cards (had enough of Tamagotchi in primary school) but it could really work. If there were other kinds of AR cards, like enemies, I would be so up for this!

No animals were harmed in the making of this post.

Yu-Gi-Oh 3DS.

Just saying it now.

My idea: Well, virtual pets are interesting enough. Maybe using Miis as the "pets". Kinda like the Mii Channel but you watch them do actual stuff.

even though pokemon stands for pocket monsters its way more docile than the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh.

And what does Yu-Gi-Oh! have to do with pocket pets? I'm a tad bit out in the cold on this one.
