Hello, this is Oziku here. Not trying to be the "bringer of gloom" but I think very well, swapnotes going to be the closes we get to it. I mean, think about it, why would Nintendo make 2 drawing/writing applications? There are support references though as Miyamoto has said in his visit to Paris. Maybe its just me, but, I think its coming out in May or very soon.

I always thought Flipnote Memo had evolved into Swapnote. They announced it around the time 3DS was announced, they kept hinting at it again and again, UNTIL Swapnote was announced (and released). It wouldn't surprise me if Swapnote "is" Flipnote Memo, and Nintendo just never gave word that it evolved into it.

even the old flipnote has more features than swapnote. flipnote memo will come and it will be much better than swapnote (in terms of drawing features).

They wouldn't. Flipnote is an animation tool, not a writing or drawing tool. The only similarity between the two is that they both have the word 'note' in the title.
Flipnote is completely different than Nintendo Letter Box, so there's no way that it's been replaced by it. It'll come in time, we just need to be patient and let them get it right.

I don't think swapnote is meant to replace flipnote. Swapnote is more of email system between friends on your friend list where as flipnote you can do animation & watch short clips of things.
Look's as though flipnote had a good run on the dsi. But I'm not sure if nintendo would want to put them selves in that position with people calling them & emailing them about flipnote all the time all over again.
The 3DS is better off without flipnote than with it. Plus besides Swapnote we have Colors! 3D there both more than enough for me to enjoy alone. Let alone throwing flipnote into the mix.
I liked flipnote on the dsi & it was a neat little app but it's better if it just stay's on the dsi where it was originally.
Still flip note would be a nice app on 3DS, that along with art academy NEW, and Swapnote make a perfect combination for MISC. apps, and Maybe the calculator apps...

I expect they're adding in SpotPass, StreetPass, and 3D if it ever comes out. Perhaps they're setting up a server for animations seperate from Hatena and that's what caused the delays?
