If I was able to get my hands on a 3DS a day early I would have probably wait until the official launch date to play it. It'd be like opening presents before Christmas. Not cool.

Skipping school for this grand occasion is getting very tempting. o_O

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

A new Game Mania (basically the Dutch GameStop or GAME) opens up in my town next week. They distributed leaflets to customers in the area with which you can win one of these things. It'd be cool if I would win it. Unlikely, but giving it a shot can't hurt I guess. The only thing I really want at the moment is Zelda, but that game isn't out until summer so I'm not too psyched about 3DS as of yet.

I think copies of Mario 64 DS hate their owners. I already lost 2 and am now in the process of getting a third one. O_O

I think my Pokemon Games hate me, I'm missing my soulsilver and previously lost platinum, but found it.

I have it everyone . I really like it. The 3DS effect is really cool and it's amazing to see it without glasses, but it's not as earth shattering as I expected. It's great, but don't expect anything you've seen in the commercials. It does really add depth to the levels and the back- and foregrond.

There are quite a few programs that comes with the 3DS, out of the box. You have of course the Augmented Reality cards with a few nice games that uses them. But unfortunately the 3D camera's do need a well lit room to work properly. Moving around the card might be a bit difficult to pull off without losing the card and the connection. But they are fun to play while they last.

Face Raiders is very fun though. You take a picture of yourself and the program let's it moves it's mouth and eyes and then let's you shoot it before it destroys your environment. A fun game with a lot of content that can be unlocked.

I also like the Street Passing function. While walking, you not only meet other people with a 3DS, it also counts how many steps you have taken and it awards coins for it. With those coins, you can buy puzzle pieces, heroes for StreetPass Quest and extra levels for the AR games. A very nice feature and I hope more games are going to use this.

By the way, I wrote an unboxing and first impressions article on WiiWareWave, for those which are interested to read more of my 3DS adventures .

Is it crazy to somehow break into Gamestop and grab a 3DS?

I mean, I already paid for it completely?

...Yeah it's crazy, but I wonder what would happen if I did that and it appears on the news, I come in on launch day to say that I took a 3DS because I paid for it and wanted it early. The look on their faces and what can they say? Even if I did not 'break' anything. Would you get arrested for getting something you already paid for?

I'm thinking too much into this, but I wonder...

I assume they'd nail me for trespassing.

I am actually paying 30 extra dollars (on top of the 250 dollars the 3DS costs) to get it shipped here...
Had i preordered a game too, that would be another 30 extra dollars (on top of the 40-ish a game costs), because amazon can't put two things on the same box when sending them some miles under the borderline.

Well... That's pretty much what consoles and games normally cost here anyways, so it's no biggie.

about your last post, you would be the "3DS boy" on youtube.

Thanks.

@WaveBoy. Don't get me wrong. It's impressive and revolutionary to see 3D without glasses. But probably because of the commercials, I expected something earth shattering. But it's still a very cool effect. About which game has the best 3D effect? From the games that came with the console, FaceRaiders, were it not for the fact that you have to move around constantly. This means you are not directly behind the 3DS, thus losing the 3D effect. I really like fishing as well (for the AR games). But the biggest 3D effect is visible when playing the launch titles. Splinter Cell looks great (my sister bought that one) and Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition looks stunning and it add's a lot of depth with the foreground and the background. The 3D Dynamic View fight (or whatever it's called) looks brilliant, but is a bit unplayable. Good to show of the 3D though.
