My 3DS gets so grimy and gross, more so than any other Nintendo system I've ever owned. I think the thing should double as a magnetic air purifier. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean both the screen and the system itself without damaging either? Would wet electronic wipes be ok, you think?

no problem. i would say your safe with wipes also. if you use liquids though use them sparingly. to much and the rubbing alcohol will seep under the screen and take a day or two to evaporate out. probally ruins the 3d effect while its under there. it happened to my DS once, but ther was no lasting damage, just a day of funny coloring in the top left corner.

I know what you mean. I played mine once for about 1.5 hours and the next day sweat was dried onto the back and sides. Being the source of much disgust, I immediately was able to remove the filth with a slightly damp tissue.
And I plan on purchasing a microfiber cloth of cleanliness if I can find one that isn't $15+.
I keep mine in the white sleeve it came with and a silk cloth in between the screens when I close it. Keeps it clean when I'm not using it amazingly well.

I agree with you the 3DS is a magnet for all things dirty. What I've come to learn really helps is electronic cleaner. If you're going to buy some get it at Monoprice. Its significantly cheaper there, Monoprice is amazing. If you do buy from them I'd recommend buying some hdmi cables or something else so it ends up worth it to pay for the shipping.
