When looking at the North American 3DS launch lineup, I noticed that nintendo stated "Other Nintendo 3DS games in the works for 2011 from Nintendo include The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time™ 3D, Star Fox 64™ 3D, Kid Icarus™: Uprising and new installments in the Mario Kart™ series." New installments? What does this mean? Are we getting multiple versions of Mario Kart for the 3DS? Maybe it could be like nintendogs where each version has exclusive Karts and tracks.
I sincerely hope not. Since I'm the only one I know atm getting a 3DS, then I'll pretty much be forced to buy every copy of the game. Not cool.
Not neccesarily. In Nintendogs, you can unlock every breed by using Bark mode with someone who has a different version of the game than you. Maybe if you played a certain amount of races with a friend who had the other version you could slowly unlock the other tracks. Or perhaps this is all just a translation error.
well, i checked and Nintendo's site did say that... "Other Nintendo 3DS games in the works for 2011 from Nintendo include The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time™ 3D, Star Fox 64™ 3D, Kid Icarus™: Uprising and new installments in the Mario Kart™ series."

Yeah, I'm thinking (read: hoping) that it's just a translation erroe, but in the case that it's not, iif it does work that way, as long as you can unlock the courses by playing people online, then I'm cool with it, as it will probably mean they're releasing more courses. hopefully every single course made so far will be re-made in 3D

Perhaps Nintendo intends to stick with the 3DS for a long period of time, and eventually they'll make a second Mario Kart game for the same system. Probably not though.
