Can anyone else imagine a remake of Mother... ON 3DS?!?!?

I'd LOVE to see an official Mother compilation released, with all 3 having updated graphics and maybe a couple of bonuses thrown in.

Sadly that won't happen. But whatever, I can live without that option.

Dude, there was just a thread made on this same thing less than 12 hours ago. These threads need to all be locked, either that or there needs to just be one thread made from consolidated portions of these topics.

I hate to break it to ya but there are many more Earthbound/Mother threads around here and those all come to the same conclusion. That Earthbound/Mother will not be released and if you want to play it start looking for the older systems and copies of the games and play it that way.

@Tsuchinoko, @Tasuki: They're not really about the same thing, though, guys, which is why I haven't already locked and redirected them. From what I read, the one in Retro was about the old games as they were coming back for another entry with Nintendo at the helm this time since Itoi has said he's not interested in continuing, and this one here seems to be about 3D remakes of the original games? either way, they're both in the appropriate sections of the forums, if there's been a recent thread for Earthbound/Mother 3D, Google isn't pulling it up for me, and the closest analogue to the intent of the latter thread is one of the sixty-bazillion 'Earthbound for VC' threads that pepper the Virtual Console section. Please, let's all either get back to discussing the topic at hand or just leave it be. :3

You're right. I apologize. Actually, I'm a huge fan of the games, I own the GBA collection and treasure it. I just felt when seeing these two topics running in tandem right next to each other that the subject had been belabored. They are different enough topics though.

I do have a lot of respect for Itoi as a writer, so when he says that the series in his eyes is over, to me that's when something can for certain be over. Its sp much preferable to when a creator leaves his series in someone else's hands and it strays so far away from the original tone/idea/story.

I do agree that the series should be embraces as a piece of gaming history, more so than it currently is. In Japan we do get some fan-service though, not so often though. I don't think its time for a 3DS remake or anything like that. I guess...maybe...now that I think about it, the GBA remakes were made a while back, but it still doesn't feel that long ago to me.

I think a remake for the 3DS would be a successful project. I'd buy 5.
