Topic: Rumour: Monster Hunter Tri G Coming To Europe?

A couple months ago, I was surprised too.

oh and I wouldn't bet on it having online. That doesn't make or break MH games, unlike what many people seem to think.

This game seems to have more content than MHP3, which has like 4x that of MHT. MHT was built for online so its offline was lacking, but all the portable games so far have had amazing offline modes (with for example, lots of elder dragon fights and special areas, compared to MHT's one boring elder dragon offline). Oh and you can choose to solo all the Guild (online) quests, unlike MHT.

In all of the portable games you can go into an 'offline' mode of the guild hall and bring your kitty/ies with you. I suspect this will be the same

Also in the portable games, the Guild Hall and the Village are directly connected. In MHT you have to completely quit the game to go from online to offline and back, but in all of the portable games the Guild Hall is just part of the village.

It's not that I believe EDGE. I just believe it's making it's way over.

I suppose I'll get it near launch if it has online, and wait for a sale otherwise, since I wouldn't be missing anything that way.

While Online doesn't make MH. It does add more fun to the mix. I mean, I wouldn't love tri as much as I do without it. To this day, I have yet to find a console rpg that has a better experience than MH tri does in that category.

Yes, and just like every other MH game released on a console, MHT was built around its online mode. None of the portable games are like that, and they're better because of it.

Edit: Sorry, when I said "Online doesn't make or break MH" I meant the series in general. If you don't have online then MHT is probably not even worth it. But the same isn't so for the other games, even though many people (who started with MHT) seem to think that. Sorry if my point wasn't clear.

Yes, but this being an enhanced port of tri makes the game, at heart , still built around online. (though minus the online of course)

This isn't just an enhanced port of Tri just so you know. This is more to MHT like MHF was to MH1. They didn't just take MHT and slap on some new Monsters.

well from what I have seen this is basically tri with more monsters, one new are and new weapons. If that is not an enhanced port than what do you call it

I can see I'm not going to get a legitimate answer to my question (I could say the same about Zelda ocarina of time 3D : "It's not just Zelda OOT with Boss rush mode added") So I will just smile and wave.

Edit: Btw pretty much everyone knows that OoT 3D is a remake, not a port.

"Sigh" google is the first place I looked and almost half the sites all said enhanced port. Plus from looking at videos myself, thats what I got from it. and Expansion (which is what the page you posted said) is pretty much why I put "Enhanced" by the word port.

Though I would continue on, this is just a stupid argument. You can say it's not, I can say it is.

Tri G is an expansion, taking what Tri and most of what Portable 3rd and putting it together with its own new features and content. Its an expansion because the setting, story and all that is similar to Tri's. (Ceadeus destroying Moga, blaming poor Lagia, blah blah)
Tri G is also the only game in its generation to feature G-Rank.

Adding new content doesn't make it any less of a port. It's the same game, being ported over to a new system with new things tacked on. Whether that's just a few new monsters or a full expansion doesn't matter, it's still a port. That's literally the dictionary definition.

Personally, I'd be perfectly happy if they skipped this one and focused on 4 instead. The series drastically needs some overhauls to its core mechanics and 4 looks promising.

I'm not arguing on the usage of the word "port" myself (that was all Eureka >:[) but for a game that has pretty much completely rehauled graphics, all new areas and monsters, different story and town, the normal village being completely changed up along with the farm and everything, not to mention completely different controls and feel when it comes to the weapons (which have updated mechanics from MHP3). And speaking of MHP3, pretty much everything new about that game was added to this one somehow.

This is hardly merely a port, but I won't get mad if you insist on calling it that. Like I said, this is less of a "MHG" game than any of the previous "G" games were. This is far more like MHP2 was to MHDos. They changed more stuff in this game than in any other "G" game in the past.

There's that new monster on the cover. Think of it this way- MHTri is Pokemon Red and Blue. MH3G is Pokemon Yellow. Enhancements are thrown in as well as a slightly different plot (from what I have heard, it looks like it's focussing on this NEW monster rather than just Lagiacrus).

Um, last i heard Bracchi doesn't appear until you finish the main story, lol
