@FattyWhale_42 I thought I checked on here a few times this morning and my FL but never noticed anything, my bad. I'll be on tomorrow... or later today
No worries. I think I just missed you yesterday.
I'll have a lot of time today (minus the eating of course xD) so hit me up whenever.
Edit: Haha, just beat me. xD Let me download the new DLC first.
Huh so I'll be doing some 1* online missions, not necessarily the required ones to advance, if anyone wants to join the room is 34-0978-2315-6565 password is 2828.
People in high rank might want to use low rank equipment to keep things fun, but I'm not against the idea of cheesing through the missions.
I've just been using the standard Guild Style for my 3 main weapons, the Gunlance, Switch Axe and Light Bowgun. The new arts just don't seem to click with me.
@crimsontadpoles While there's nothing wrong with Guild for any weapon, if you find that you don't use arts much consider the aerial or adept styles. Aerial Gunlance is a hoot with Normal shells (just have to get used to no backhop), and Adept basically removes the need for Guard+ skills and minimizes downtime spent reloading.
Aerial Switch Axe, or Switch Blade as they should call it since you never want to leave sword mode, is a blast in said mode since you attack on the way up and down. For Guild and Striker, the Demon Riot and Energy Charge arts are your friend.
Finally, for the Light Bowgun, Adept gives easy power boosts from dodging, very flexible.
Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Booh, go home
Seriously. That advice is beyond stupid, do you minmax....people not know the beauty of the slash combo? And don't even get me started on picking wyverns out of the air like cherries.
You wouldn't believe how much you gimp yourself if you never use axe mode. Why do you think do the switch combos exist? You wanna use both. Aerial swaxe is for people who don't know how to utilize both modes to their fullest.
Don't believe the morons on gamefaqs or YouTube or wherever the heck you see em these days who spread that nonsense about "never wanting to use axe mode" because they're the same idiots who'll tell you not to use the strong charges on GS (wtf?!?) or who'll tell you to exclusively use axe mode on charge blade or who'll tell you to use the different shell types on gunlance in one specific way and nothing else.
Jesus, are those guys getting on my nerves because all they do is ruin newcomers from the get-go.
I don't care what you decide to do yourself, but please, for the love of god, stop spreading that garbage you catch on certain sites around the net.

Yes, I'm aware of axe's Hack N' Slash. The problem in Generations is that you have both an art that boosts the power of sword mode for as long as it's gauge lasts, AND an art that instantly refills said gauge plus provides a boost in affinity. Combine all this with a power phial and sword mode will always beat axe in a damage race: the axe's main utility lies in it's mobility and reach to hit hard-to reach parts.
....So I'm guessing these last 3 quests after "The Fated Four" are actually high rank or something? Since 4U did something like that with its village quests...(high rank quests in low rank, and G-Rank in high)

@Joeynator3000 Yep. Every village quest that you unlock after The Fated Four is high rank. Of course, the game doesn't tell you that outright.
Anyways, I think the Astral set has supplanted the second (non-subspecies) G-rank Dalamadur set as the best looking one in the series.
Unfortunately, the clearest image I've seen of it online is in a video thumbnail (RFG's equipment upgrade guide video for the game).

I could get you a picture of it if someone could explain how to get freakin' miiverse to work. The fool thing keeps kicking me to offline mode.
Anyway, I use the astral set with my sakura slash / critical juncture long sword build, as it has inspire on it. As far as I can tell these are all the ways to increase the rate of your hunter arts' recharge:
-Striker style
-Inspire skill
-Deviant weapon
-Hunter's drink
-When fighting against hyper monsters
Does anyone have any advice for getting wyvern scalps? I'm breaking the shell of the Shogun ceanatar but they aren't coming. Does it depend on the shell it switches to or how many shells you break?

I'm trying to get a decent evasion charm so I can turn it into a Striker SwagAxe set; with a three slot talisman and two slot weapon (which the Astral weapons have; meh in the power department, but crapload of blue sharpness and power/impact phials for SA/CB) I can get +12 skill points, when I'd rather get things up to 15 skill points.
