Tried the nooblett set (Bulldrome + Jaggi) and it's so not worth it for the start lol
Gives you a measly 5 points over my current set.
I'll keep my Jaggi/Jaggi mix. Full Jaggi, replace arms and legs with the gauntlets and shinguards. And you can replace the helm and chest piece with Kutku later for extra defense if that floats your boat.
Gives me atk up S and critical eye+1 which I greatly prefer for sword and shield.
I hope I can replace the kutku stuff with Los pieces later. He should still give atk up I hope.
...Oh, right...Bulldrome is in this, greeeaaat. -.-

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Megumi_Sagano He's pretty pathetic, though.
Also, been using the BuJaBuJaBu set and it's awesome (Attack Up Large in the early game). However, I got an attack +2/one slot charm, allowing me to get the blademaster head and swapped out the chest piece for the Kut Ku one, putting my defense in the mid-90's.
@Megumi_Sagano Outside of the online final boss (which is an Elder Dragon), there's no massive monster fights (so nothing else with 8000-10000 HP).
Well I mean, is his health comparable to those other two. I know about the giant squid thing, lol.
EDIT: Yup, old raptors still annoying as ever...and Cephadrome.
The new prowler mode is... underwhelming. Extremely weak at fighting, very few ways of healing yourself and only useful for gathering.
Would be hilarious to see someone take down an end game monster with 4 prowlers, though.
ALL HAIL THE GLACEONS!
Nets truly are wondrous things...
Well yes, that is true, but the problem is that they're full support, without any competence in actually attacking the monster. On paper, full support sounds all good. But, would you rather have a support that can give you a few helpful boosts or a hunter that can do way more damage, contributing more?
Or maybe I'm just stupid and they're actually really useful.
So far I think this is the best Monster Hunter game, but with one large caveat:
The areas suck!
Who thought I would be here, counting the seconds until the fourth gen areas are put back into the rotation, when I've condemned them before?
The old areas feel like no effort has been put into reworking them. The skyboxes are as flatly obvious as wallpaper. The environments are basic, drab, and oddly-shaped. They do not serve even their basic function as monster-hunting arenas well: Bushes and other ugly set dressings block your view of monsters, actively detracting from the hunt. There's no rhyme of reason to which walls you can climb on and which you can't. Pillars in the middle of areas can't be interacted with—it feels like we actually went back a gen.
Even the Deserted Island—probably my favorite area—sucks now. The rework is LAUGHABLE, putting up a totally-out-of-place wooden wall because they couldn't be bothered to edit the skybox. They actually took out a shortcut.
This just—argh, this make me so mad. Monster Hunter needs to go open world now. I get it, I hate open world games, but they really just need to make a nice, well-rounded, complete in-and-of itself entry again like Tri. No more PS1 environments (yes, PS one), not more weird, ugly web systems bisecting an area laterally. This isn't World of Warcraft. https://35yards.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/wowscrnshot_05111...

The areas' drab style stems from the series' look on the PS2/PSP. I have no real problem with them; they're meant to be nostalgia trips.
As for the Deserted Island map, it's the version from Portable 3rd- hence the new basecamp and wooden wall blocking Moga that seem to offend you so much.
Also, they're not going to pull another Tri; it's the least successful main line title to date.
Why do they make some quests so annoying? The stupid nibbelsnarf keeps going back and forth constantly between areas on opposites sides of the map!
And yeah, that fondue meal animation is really weird. One other complaint, way too many gathering and small monsters quests in the beginning. But overall I'm really liking Generations.
One minor thing in Generations that annoys me is that the Great Maccao is being used instead of the Great Jaggi as the pathetic beginner monster. I'm doing some of the weapon training quests to try out various weapon and arts combinations, but the Great Maccao moves so quickly which makes it much harder to practice on with a brand new weapon.
Another issue is that the start of the game felt lacklustre compared to MH4U. Generations started with the player already in the town, but MH4U had that brilliant segment when the player was travelling to Val Habor for the first time.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll love Generations once I get further into it. I'm still trying to decide what weapons to use, but I'm thinking about trying to main the Switch Axe, Gun Lance and the Bow this time since I'm not very familiar with them.
