Does this game have a time limit on quests like MH3U?
That really put me off MH3U.
why? 50 minutes is pretty much enough for about any monster(unless you use underpowered weapons, what's really hard to happen) and there's ALMOST not a single one with less time.
with more than 50 anyone could run away sleep to heal come back give 2 or 3 hits to run away again and heal, it'd be too easy like this
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Haha, that's funny.
I wish the Harvest Tours were unlimited though, is there a good reason for it to be 50 minutes? To be fair, I wouldn't stay on Deserted Island for 50 minutes in Free Hunt mode though. But still, it comes in handy if you want to study the map, gather bits, do some cookin' and other bits and pieces. But its nice there is a kind of free hunt mode online.
YES MH3U discount looks like I will buy this 30th January
Be patient at the start of the game, there is a bit of a learning curve.
Okay, better than the demo which just throwed it at you and just relied to that you had played MH game before
Better but still pathetic, 4 they actually have a have decent tutorial and even have a quest to use each weapon type on Great Jaggie (first boss monster).

Actually, MH4's tutorial starts out with you on the Dragonship while being attacked by Darren.
Right but some of your first quests are Kill Great Jaggi with X weapon in the arena with that weapon being provided, even if thats not a direct tutorial it is holding your hand telling you try them all and find out what you like. http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH4:_Village_Quests

Oh no, the start of MH is a complete drag. It can take up to an hour or more to really get into it and start killing monsters. But once you#'ve got past this, its brilliant fun.

yeah killing aptonoths to get meat isn't the best way to learn how to use a weapon.....
to not mention that villager request that's not with junior..... my cousin skipped the text and I had already long forgotten, got we both stumped for a while...

@Chris720 I'm serious, I already had over 100 hours in the game, no way I'd remember something so small, he skipped all the text and didn't know how to move on... and no way someone can learn how to use the weapons killing hebivores that almost don't fight back.

@GuSilverFlame Ah okay, just making sure. Personally I can't even remember what anyone said at the start of the game, I actually got stuck for a while because I couldn't remember what they wanted me to do as I skipped through it, and eventually found out "oh I have to grab Iron Ore" derp. But the first part of every MH game I've found is a complete bore... It is so boring, it just drags out for too long gathering up stuff I don't give 2 monkeys about.
At least with MH3U, if you've already played it before you can just dump yourself straight into the Tavern/Port and getting hunting G. Jaggi's and Rathians from the get go without any of the gathering bull. Its quite nice, but not exactly the best idea as your equipment at the start can barely slice an apple.

So I have to carefully read the text, got it

@Metroidlink you only have to carefully read the text before you unlock the village quests after that most of the non-quest tasks are pretty much the same(just material gathering)

The first segment of 3U is quite awful, (gathering mushrooms seriously?), but the Great Jaggi marks the beginning of the true game, and one of my favorite franchises.
One thing I have been on the hunt for is to see the new weapon changes in Action, however as far as I am aware this does not exist in one place and some weapons seem to have no such thing at all. So in lack of having such a source it might be advantageous to put together such a video from bits and pieces of others.
So if your interested in helping find these videos post them below and perhaps we can make a compilation of all the changes. Also please note the time of the new move in the video.

Lance and Long Sword have been easy to find, SnS changes in Action and someone actually landing a successful Charged Pound with a hammer has been difficult.
