Aaaaaaand now I'm officially in the party too!
I'm just at the first quests though, because I tried all the weapons and because I'm sick...but I'm really enjoying it!

Why are finals so demanding? I have finishing touches to put on a presentation, a poster, and a research paper, and revision of a short story to do, before next week. I just want to play MH4U--I want to upgrade my Nerscylla glaive, since I realised the hunt-a-thons weren't too terrible last night and I only need one more Sharpclaw for it. Even if Nerscylla is one of my nightmares made flesh ugggh

Though I'm pretty sure I screwed up with giving nectars to it--I've been careful with my Leumundsbruch, but I wasn't even thinking about doing the same with my poison glaive. I hate how expensive nectars are. And how difficult it is to farm Caravan Points on expeditions when you're currently bad at killing monsters before they up and vanish.

Why can they even flee permanently? Whose design idea was that?! I swear I nearly killed the Gore in the stable rare Gore expedition I got at least 5 times, but I couldn't inflict enough damage even with my red buff to get it quite down before it split. So annoying.

Is the Great Jaggi armor a good one for a beginner? I already made the Hunter one, I don't know if it's worth farming the G. Jaggi or wait for a better one to show up...

@Fenrir6: Tetsucabra armor is great for low rank due to the defensive value it provides (not to mention it can be gemmed to further amplify that effect).

At first, though, just use whatever will give you a foot up. I had mismatched armor for a while before I could comfortably farm the Tetsucabra.

Nerscylla armor is great if you want to focus on capturing monsters instead of killing them.

I was trying to farm Rathalos Ruby's yesterday, spent 3 or 4 hours just hunting Silver Rathalos. Was F'bombing him for his two shines and breaking his back. I could get the two shines and break his back in 4-5min then end via subquest. Still haven't found one Ruby yet and I need two.

Blah! All I need now is 1 Elder Dragon Blood to finish my set. The only way I think I can get one is from a 6% chance from a quest reward for the Caravan 10 Urgent with Crimson Fatalis. It's not a hard fight, it just takes me 20min the kill the damn thing. Anyone else know if there is a different way since I haven't worked on my HR yet?

I finally understand why people say this game is so rewarding!
I just hunted Kecha Wacha for the first time, died twice and almost ran out of time (yes, I'm kind of bad...), but when I finally finished him, it felt SOOOOO good! And I even got the parts I needed to upgrade my blades!

Are Palicoes max level 30 or 50? I can't find much info on the max level thing, one place said 50. I have pulled the sword out of the island and recruited that palico that gives you the quests and all. Is it part of the Afro cat quests?

WHOOO, F*** yes! I beat that unreasonably strong Rajang, finally. The first time I got obliterated, but the second time, I did some research, brought my good ole cool cleavers, and cut that thing to down. I'm certainly never fighting the Goku based monster ever again unless it's with people online or if I have to...

Speaking of which, I have a HR of only 7 (lol) and an entire week off . Anyone wants to hunt with me?

@OutCold When you complete a quest named Zinogre Zone, they can lv up to 30
When you complete Naked and Afraid (Good luck with that. You'll be fighting two Deviljho naked) they are raised to 40
Skiff Scuttler raises the limit to 50

Hmmm found those quests on a couple sites, still doesn't say anything about palicoe levels. I need to raise my my HR a couple levels to 90 and Ill give naked and afraid a go

A saw a vid from this youtuber doing that quest. His friends and himself cooperated sooo well because they could talk to each other. That team ultra CB attack was one of the coolest things I've seen in Monster Hunter. Pokemon X and Y had it, so why can't MH have voice chat as well?

It finally happened, I failed my first quest: Nerscylla.
When I did the Caravan fight I did it just fine, but I just tried the Guild Hall one and it went horribly, I almost ran out and got killed the third time too! Is it that much difficult when done in the Guild Hall or did I just play so bad today? xD

That's true, but it's still the 1* urgent quest, I think it's too soon to NEED help to beat it xD

Anyone have any tips for Shah? Mainly for the last part? I fought him a second time and did okay until towards the end (he does this when near death), where he just stood there and roared ten-bazillion times. Making it near impossible to attack him because of those stupid meteors. lol

Quick question: do you guys prefer full sets of armor or mixed sets?
Or, to word it differently, fashion or skills? xD
