Abyssal I hated, lol.
...I hated underwater in general, only good thing that came out of that was Gobul. xD

I just really liked the MH3 world. Areas like the deserted island, desert, and volcano were really great. Maybe I'm missing playing them in a higher resolution in Tri. That could be it. You do feel a bit more immersed in that world when looking at a TV-size screen.

Also, underwater was taxing at times, but you can't deny that it added a bit of variety to the game. It's crazy to fight a lagiacrus on land, follow it into the sea, then to the totally underwater area where the battle ends, one way or another. That progression was really cool, I think.

I still occasionally play MH3U on Wii U. I'm stuck trying to kill G rank Deviljho....need help sadly....or maybe a different strategy/weapon. I main the switch axe.

Volcano I just love because of the music. lol
Volcanic Hollow is alright, but I love the more fast-paced battle themes.

@nacho_chicken: I'm pretty sure you can't doge Jhen Mohran's roar with any amount of evasion. Heck, even emergency diving doesn't help. I do remember dodging Gigginox's roar with Evasion+1 once so I know it's not impossible.

Hollow... no, just no. Reskins aren't the Monster Hunter I know. I wish they'd have just put gravios, etc into the other areas. It's not like there are any new fire or lava-themed monsters thet needed an area to dwell in.

The dunes is a great area, though.

Eh, the Hollow I'm fine with because the game has enough areas to begin with. Both versions are kinda like Night and Day when you think about it, which the other areas don't have besides the Dunes.

That was a lot of hunting, but now we're done with Low Rank!

I still remember the poor rathalos, who couldn't stay in the air for more than two seconds.

Molten has a Gathering Hall high rank quest right? Seems like the other monsters show up except him.

Yeah, if one of us wasn't knocking it from the sky, it was the other one! xD

I didn't mean that dodging Giggi/Khezu's roar was impossible, it's just that they like to roar all the time with no warning.
Also, Jhen Mohran roar can be dodged by diving. You need to be precise though, as the dive's i-frames aren't much longer than it's effective roar.

I just don't think it's practical to try to evade through roars. You have to get the timing down perfect and even then sometimes you're gonna mess up, and sometimes not be in an ideal situation to where you even can try to evade- like dealing with 2 monsters at once- it's hard to watch the one for their roar when you're busy klobbering the other (or getting klobbered!). And other monsters just roar for so long and so unpredictably that even if it is technically possible, it's still practically impossible (certainly wouldn't call it easy). I've never found Evasion a proper substitute for a good set of HG Earplugs.

But kudos to anyone who does find it a suitable alternative. I just think its too much of a hassle and not reliable enough.

Does anyone want to play MH4U in 2 hours time? I'm quite new to it, but am gradually getting used to the mechanics of the game (this is my first Monster Hunter). My friend code is 1161-0648-3584, and I will create a lobby (or whatever you call it) for y'all to join.

Just out of curiosity, does owning MH3U unlock anything as a bonus in mh4u... I'm still debating with myself about purchasing the game especially after reading about how selfish people are during online quests

Why is the price of this tanking so quickly ? (At least in the UK).
