That awkward moment when you kill an elder dragon by accidentally pressing R and entering recital mode.

Anyway, yay now Cathar's 6* missions are done, now to continue with the 6* elite missions and hopefully finish that section.

The coward Palico from the island is really good.

After 320 hours of neglecting the Gunlance, I decided to finally make a G Rank set for one of my old mains. The set comes with Artillery God, Guard +2, Razor Sharp, and Speed Sharpening. While I did wish I was able to fit in Guard up instead of Speed Sharpening, these skills are amazing for the Gunlance. So far the only G-Rank Gunlance I have so far is the Seregios one, I really regret not using it often since it's very good at slaying monsters.

Gunlance is my favorite out of all of them.

I love how when you use a weapon for a long time, it takes you like a year to figure out a key attack that weapon can do. Back in Tri it took me that long to realize that I can counter with it. xD

...Oh wait that's why I stopped playing 4U for a while...Teo was killing me constantly.

@Morpheel: You mean the Wyvern fire? You just hold R and press X+A at the same time. You can also look up video tutorials by other players on YouTube. Gaijin Hunter does a pretty good job going through all the details.

Btw, you can't counter with a gunlance. Tri didn't even have the gunlance.

Farmed Tigrex to create his armor set and fashioned an Usurper's Boltslicer. My huntress looks positively fearsome now.

I'm now up to 3 star quest. Should I be doing the "events" or any of the DLC, or is that above my head yet?

The seregios event fight is a nightmare. I'd wait until G to even bother.

I used to sub-main Lance and it's a powerful weapon category without a doubt- gunlance in particular (though unfortunately I never learned gunlance). What I do know is that Evasion+3 gives you 18 frames of invincibility- and the Lance hop is exactly 18 frames. And since you can string 3 hops together, you can actually stay invincible for 54 frames during the entire triple hop, or 1.8 seconds. It's the single most powerful skill in the game if you are using a Lance type weapon. Something to think about

@dkxcalibur @Haru17 If you're referring to the Seregios fight obtained through the episodic quest chain via DLC, I agree it's tough but nothing you need G rank armor for. I think we were farming that quest in early high rank IIRC. Now solo, that's a different story. But as long as you're with a group, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. That quest is NOTHING compared to the Three Virtues quest for Link's armor. That one you probably wanna be G rank. Or extremely prepared in high rank. The DLC arena quest with Najarala and Tigrex (I think it's Tigrex?) is also pretty tough for a high rank quest, which you'll be graduating to as soon as you finish your 3-star quests.

I was wondering what's a good G rank starter set as my Silver Rath does have just over 500 defense but that will be obsolete in like 30 seconds? Still it's holding its own in the lower class monsters for sure. Also what's the easiest way to get heavy armor spheres? I've had like 4 or 5 up till now but not one in G rank yet.

@Spoony_Tech
Regios is most popular- easy to make, 10 slots and Steady Hand skill (sharpness+fencing combined). But you could also go for another G1 monster. I'd google the skills and find a set that has skills you want. I know Qurupeco armor is good for horn users, but you have to unlock the parts at wycoon to trade for them.

EDIT: Sorry, got you confused with @Morpheel being the horn user. So I know the two sets that caught my eye when I moved up was Lagombi and Najarala. Lagombi has Evade Dist (and some Evasion points too or even Evasion+1) and Najarala has HG Earplugs. Both highly valued skills to me. Depending on what talismans you have you could maybe go with the one that beat compliments those skills.

As for Heavy Armor Spheres and Strong, I know the final caravan quests gave me some yesterday (Chameleos, and it gave me Strong spheres). Dunes Night is best place to mine armor spheres, but it's G2. Maybe have someone with access host a room and go on some Harvest tours. Otherwise all the elder dragon quests in G3 usually yield Heavy/Strong spheres in the reward box.

I'd just eat for Explorer for every G rank quest you go on. You'll rack up spheres that way. And mine every node you come across for the next week or so. But you'll be needing spheres soon as you get your G armor, so may want to consider holding on to any you get from now on...

Steady hand actually sounds like a good skill since I'm a Great Sword duel blade user. I'll keep all that in mind going forward. Thanks for the quick response.

I think I need to do more gathering hall quest first. I've done all caravan quest except for the one quest that Morpheel helped me with the King's Frills (Field Trip) & the Bug Burger quest that I did by myself. I tried to do the event Uniqlo: Hunt for Inspiration but you have to initiate the quest at the High rank counter and when I approach the counter, the women tells me that I'm not a high enough level to do any of the quest yet. Oh well, I guess even the low-rank events will have to wait for now.

@dkxcalibur The Uniqlo: Hunt for Inspiration quest is initiated at the Low Rank Counter, not the High Rank one. If it's not there, be sure you have all of the quests downloaded already.

I've been working on making some Gunlances today and I was able to make the Brachydios Gunlance. It only needs 1 more upgrade before it's fully upgraded, though it needs an Immortal Reactor so I'll probably need some help farming his Raging Variant on Friday. I would farm him tomorrow, but the Mario Kart 8 DLC is releasing on that day.

Help would be nice, though you'll need to have completed the G3 Urgent Quest to join since the HR requirement to join is G Bronze Crown.
