Yeah I doubt it, Capcom themselves said they didn't want to give up on Monster Hunter in the West. The main reason why they moved to Nintendo, because they support on localizing the game. And yeah....3G = Ultimate.

Hm, I had read numerous reports that Ultimate was a different game, but now everything's saying they're the same...I don't know what to trust. I thought Ultimate had stuff that wasn't in 3G?

Only differences are the event weapons, they're still the same, but they've-skinned them.

Capcom would have to be even dumber than usual to not release 4 here. I mean if they could have it actually be a successful 3rd party Wii U title, imagine what a 3DS game could do!

@GuSilverFlame Its a pretty cool bowgun, but I prefer the Azurathling Sunsear? Azu Sunsear? No idea... But, yeah, that bowgun.

Nearly on to Ivory Lagiacrus on Moga. And going on to Solo Tanzia, dam the monsters are way harder. Took me 7 mins to down a HR Los on Moga, took 20 mins on Port. Cheese.

Really looking forward to MH4 though. After playing MH3 three times now, the environment are getting a bit samey and boring. I want to explore somewhere new.

I'm sick of Plesioth, chances are he'll be even more annoying if he was huntable in 4, lol

I wonder why they've left it out for MH3U though. I mean, its clearly possible. And before someone says: You can via the Wii U, well what's the use in that? I have to buy a Wii U and a LAN Adaptor just to do so. Might as well just buy MH3U for the Wii U in the first place.

I dunno... I think it was a stupid idea leaving it out in the first place. But at least MH4 will have it.

it was probably some marketing plan to help the sales of the WiiU(Capcom has earned the right to be confident about Monster Hunter sales)

Actually, if what Mizore says is true, the reason is that 3G never had it, and the only reasons the Wii U had it were because it was an updated port that may have gotten some backing from Nintendo.

3G on the 3DS didn't have online because they were thinking about Japan first, and Japan doesn't really need online for a handheld game. So I'm guessing MH4 means its getting (although, slowly...) more popular outside of Japan. But yeah Ultimate is just an HD port of the 3DS game, with online added to it.

But the West is miles different to Japan. For one I don't live in a crammed city filled with 3DS owners so local meet-ups are non-existant. Also, we're more accustomed to online play because of the greater distances like in America for example.

I still think they missed a huge opportunity to broaden their market.

Right, which is interesting as MH 4 has essentially improved upon all the issues we of the west have with the game. Things like:

  • An improved tutorial
  • Online mode for the 3DS

Now if only they could add button mapping to the list we would be all peachy over here. But as others said Monster Hunter is HUGE over in japan, its like Call of Duty over here, just everyone plays it or has played it at some point.

but though I must admit Call of Duty is pretty cool at the first time playing. Monster Hunter deserves FAR more to be played by everyone(it is oficially my favorite ARPG series ever, good bye Kingdom Hearts)

@GuSilverFlame Call of Duty was a fine game(1 & 2), and even the modern versions arnt bad, they just arnt good.....or different which makes them a lot worse.

So small little bit of information I found since we talked about Plesioth, HE IS in fact in MH4 but not in the way you think. There is a mini game for him that required you to shoot a Net while he is zipping in the water that nets some sort of scale when caught.

I wasn't saying it is bad but it could use some more changes. kinda like NSMB it's not bad but it is pretty much the same almost all the time.
thought the realistic war setting probably doesn't help the developers they can't simply put giant monsters, excessively unreal weapons or weird powers to make it innovative, I guess(but NSMB has no excuse for being like this)

MH4G already? guess it might be a good indicator they won't bring MH4 to the west though it gives me hopes there might be a "ultimate" version here

@GusilverFlame This is normal for japan , take a look at their release schedule for MH games - http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Game_List they do them in spurts and then take breaks for generations to update combat and how things function and so on.

From what I can guess from the trailer is a Desert location being added as there is not one in MH4 currently, and probably a new weapon since their always seems to be one new addition each iteration. Wish their was more info on the changes as this video shows next to nothing but flashy monsters.

@Warruz yeah you're right after seeing that page it started making sense(especially because MH4 can't have a "portable" version before the G one )
