Secondly, I aknow, edge the gap isn't small- but to say leaps and bounds is pretty much exagerrating.
MH3DS is surely to look gorgeous either way.
Vita and PS3 are already getting an MH game- albeit the same game. So, really, is it bad to want it on 3DS? You can say wasted effort but you're not putting money into the development of the game, so why the hate and fuss that you've been doing in this thread most of the time (with the bipolar comments, too).
But I stand by the point I made about the 3DS and Vita.
I have to agree with Komicturtle on this one. The Vita might have better technology, but the 3DS' graphical capabilities haven't been pushed to their maximum yet, so we don't know what it's capable of. And RE: Revelations looks amazing!
Also, Zez, if you are dissing on the 3DS so much... why are you posting in the 3DS part of the forum?! o__O
The 3DS suffers frame rate drops when your fighting Ganondorf. How do you think it's gonna handle two monsters on screen, both rawring or attacking or something. It's a better move to put it on the PS3/Vita or the WiiU. Not the 3DS.

I never noticed the framerate drops.

I noticed the framerate dropped, it's when you shoot a light arrow at gannon. It does it on 2D as well so I think it has more to do with it being a port, something must be going on in the background. Monster hunter would work well on the 3DS and if many high detailed objects are causing the framerate to drop they can just delete the instances when they leave the viewport by a certain amount of pixels.
What Aviator said, the final battle with Ganondorf lagged like crazy, even with 3D off. Shoot a light arrow, Ganondorf stumbles and electricty sparks off his body, try to jump over the gap and immediately fall through it... it's done it every single time.
However, this might just be a slight bug or glitch in the game or system, kinda weird why it does that though. I think the 3DS could handle it, but I have a feeling the monsters could well look like pixels... Welcome to Monster Hunter 4: Land of the Pixels!
Only other place I notice framerate drops is when Iron Knuckle hits one of those chairs/pillars/whatever. Even so, just because of those only two situations doesn't mean the 3DS can handle two large monsters from MH. I mean the game handles Volvagia, Bongo-Bongo, King Dodongo, and Barinade perfectly fine. Even Kohume and Kotake. (even though they're basically midget witches, lol)
And chances are the lag is caused by the effects of the Light Arrow hitting Ganondorf.

Yeah, I haven't noticed framerate drops fighting ganon.
But alas, if PSP can handle MH, 3DS is more than capable. Sure, I'd like to see it on WiiU, but I'd also like MH on 3DS considering of the 4, it and WiiU have yet to get one.
And i don't care about the best graphics. A game can run at 2040p, gamma to the max and all that- I don't care. At all. It can be pretty and cute, but if a game is bad, it's bad. VVVVVV doesn't have the gorgeous graphics today's games for the most part have- but the gameplay is amazing in itself because that's what makes the game.
So, Vita may look better, but even then, I wouldn't care. I don't even care about WiiU running games natively at 1080p. I just don't. The only reason why people would pick Vita most likely because of dual analog. Maybe cross-game chat which is cool, but it's not something I'm going nuts over because it's expected.
It just seems Zez comes here to dismiss the 3DS and MH pairing, and then contradict himself and throw in tired sarcasm that isn't even.. well, funny. Never understood why people scream if MH comes to a Nintendo platform when it doesn't mean that Sony's consoles won't get it.
I don't own a PSP so I don't know how the Portables is handled, but yeah if the PSP is able to smoothly run the games...then like Komic says, the 3DS is more than capable of handling them. When fighting a monster I don't see that many minions around anyways...(besides the Jaggi nests and/or when fighting Peco, then again he doesn't summon minions that often)

If I'm not stupid then I believe the 3DS is stronger than the PSP. If that's correct, then Monster Hunter will run great on the 3DS because when playing Freedom Unite, the framerate never dropped. Actually that was one of the last things to complain about when playing it. If it were present.
Welp, I made this thread for discussion on MH on 3DS. Then, it turned to the PS3 (it's not even relevant here, same as WiiU) and Vita MH are better. Didn't want to turn this into a typical and obnoxious Nintendo consoles VS Sony consoles thread :/

OH, AND freedom Unite is a really good game.
This really shouldn't surprise you. Have you checked whose commented in this thread lately? :l

The 3DS graphics and the PSP graphics are about the same anyway...
@Kid_Crono Maybe so, but it was never in 3D though was it? 3D is already known for slowing down games and causing most games to run at 30fps compared to the 2Ds 60fps... if MH3D is in constant 3D I can see there could be a fair amount of lag and slowdown... especially for the bigger bosses like Rathalos etc.

I've never encountered slowdown in any of the 3DS games I've played in 3D. Which include: Bust-A-Move: Universe, Super Monkey Ball, Rayman 3D, that Cartoon Network Punching thing, and Ocarina 3D.
