I don't want ports or remakes either, only exception being the Wind Waker for that reason before. As of right now, the only game I'm interested in is Paper Mario.

I don't care about developer's intentions and all that stuff.

It's just silly that Nintendo comes out with a great new handheld, and everyone here just wants more of the same.

There hasn't been a thread about what cool, totally new games could take advantage of the 3D. The closest I saw was the Fallout 3DS thread, props to him.

In other scenarios, Nintendo fans complain about Nintendo using the same IPs over and over, but what do people want on Nintendo's new handheld? More of the same.

Apparently I'm the only one that would like totally new experiences.

Well, there's really nothing we can do when it comes to the games that are coming out on the handheld. And I think you should care about their intentions and the like because they are TRYING (at least, some are doing this for good) to see what works and doesn't work.

And yes, I completely agree about people complaining about seeing the same IP's, yet want a remake of another- blah blah.. blah.

At the end of the day, there's really nothing we can do- other than not buy their products. Small or not at all, there's a difference, so we can make an effort in not buying those remakes. HOWEVER, Star Fox 64 and LoZ Ocarina of Time in 3D and PORTABLE? I'm sold. I believe that's ONE of the many reasons why people want remakes. It's convenient when it's on a handheld. But 95% of the time, I'll be buying those NEW original titles. I'll only buy the remakes if I like them or I just don't have access to them anymore somehow.

An Earthbound 3DS remake is deserving- and maybe a compilation of the 3 games because that series really needs the attention it deserves, more-so than Zelda, Pokemon and those other popular franchises.

If people want remakes, revisions or some update- I really hope they pick a game series that REALLY deserves it.

What is it with people wanting only Wii games on their 3DS?

Guess I'm alone, but I'd like 3DS exclusive games that I can't play on my Wii. I'm not buying games over again just to play them in 3D on a smaller screen.

I want games like Kid Icarus. Not ones like Monster Hunter 3DS, Super Smash Bros. 3DS, Wind Waker 3DS, (any other Wii title) 3DS.

Monster Hunter Tri is a series not just a game for the wii it also has been on psp.

@AlexSays: What's wrong with more of the same?

I happen to like Monster Hunter, and I'd like to play it again with new monsters and in 3D. As for original content, I'm all for that, but I don't see why it's so bad to want sequels for games you like.

I'd love to see another Monster Hunter. With the success of MH3, I wouldnt see why CAPCOM wouldn't try another effort on anything Nintendo. Besides the 3DS entry would be something... unique.

There have been a few topics on this board about how some original games could work or what types of original games they would like to see and those topics pretty much died, getting little to no feed back (good or bad). You guys are always welcomed to throw out ideas for new IPs before you just say stuff like that or quote it to make a point, you could always make a point by giving an example of some new types of games, and while I agree (I suggested some ideas), there are still other franchises which could flourish on the 3DS, monster hunter (in my opinion) happens to be one of them.

I gave an idea of a game based on a comic book world that could be built around using the 3d and the touchscreen, people are giving ideas you just have to look. Or you could offer some yourself, I'm sure we would all love to hear- I'm all for new games.

Haha, kinda dated, but the point is- NEW MONSTER HUNTER ON 3DS. NOT A REMAKE- AN ORIGINAL. This is why I brought it up. Can't jump on the gun without 'thinking' about what the person is trying to get at.

Monster Hunter 3DS would be fantastic and the internet has been buzzing about the idea since the 3DS was announced. I would love it if they made a new MH game for the 3DS!

@WaltzElf Monster Hunter has always been a series sold on the most popular devices available for maximum exposure and sales - in Japan, that is. So that means... (in chronological order) the PS2, the PSP and the Wii. Why the PSP and not the DS? The game requires fairly realistic graphics, AI and physics. With the DS's much lower specs MH would simply not work. However, MH is also a series which will take risks when appropriate - and it has now become a system-seller for the PSP. The move to the Wii was another risk which paid off. If the 3DS takes off in Japan, I would expect at least one edition of Monster Hunter on it eventually.

  • Monster Hunter is not a Nintendo IP.
  • Monster Hunter has never had a plain port or remake. Every entry is new and adds brand new monsters, stages, weapons, armour sets, everything.
  • A Fallout 3DS would be just as "new" as a Monster Hunter 3DS, seeing how they would be new entries in established series.
  • Didn't you say totally new IPs? Whoops, Fallout is not a new IP. The first Fallout game came out in 1997.
  • Fallout 3 and its expansions are essentially TES IV: Oblivion with guns, which itself was a lazy entry in a series which started in 1994. So much for cool and totally new.
  • There are plenty of threads talking about the potential of the 3DS and how its new technology could be used, both for established series and for new ideas.

Alternatively, you could stop complaining and start talking about those "totally new experiences" you crave. That would be far more constructive than making accusations at your fellow NL members. I might add that suggesting ideas for new IPs is ultimately pointless because Nintendo will never listen to your ideas anyway. See below: (Source)

There's a Monster Hunter on the Xbox 360. There goes that theory.

Capcom seems very willing to use Monster Hunter to boost the popularity of a console (which directly benefits Capcom by looking like a forerunner on that console), I don't think there's any method that we can read into to which console gets the next game in that series. However, the handheld games have had a historical loyalty to the PSP console - that's not something easily shed.

That said, given the popularity of Tri, if the 3DS does take off, then I agree there will probably be some kind of Monster Hunter 3DS.

Also a PC version with 9 expansion packs, the 360 was a best of game. I don't see what theory was busted...

I know. Maybe you missed this:

The PSP was not selling especially well before MH turned up. And now there are Japanese players who have bought a 360 just for MH Frontier. It certainly does look like they enjoy boosting console sales with the series, but the series started on the most popular device and the majority of its entries continue that trend.

Until Monster Hunter Tri, the home console games had a historical loyalty to the PS2 and that was fairly easily shed, as we all can tell by now. Frontier came out on the 360 after Tri came out on the Wii. With the series' relatively newfound multiplatform-ness, I can only see them releasing a Monster Hunter 3DS if the 3DS does well.

If there was to be a MH for 3DS and it was a launch title. It would be great to be able to showcase the 3DS and its online abilities (if any).
