Hmm, I quite like the use of the touch screen in MH3G. I can see it working well. Has it been confirmed not to have online play? That would be a bummer.
Also FYI I'm currently writing a paper where, among other things, I refer to Monster Hunter Tri as for "the intellectual action gamer". Oh you, school.
Seeing as how popular this topic is the game better see a Western/European release. And I mean SOON. I don't want to wait another year like they did with Tri, but if that is the case I suppose it is to be expected.
Yeah, no online mode. And cool that you're doing that. Least makes writing the paper more exciting
@Zez I don't own the other MH games on PSP, but yes, MHT I know for a fact was really lacking in offline mode. I'd have to say, the quests got a bit repetitive because it was mostly the same and content was on the light side. I still haven't even "beaten" offline because I'm just tired of fighting Rathalos who I really hate fighting (and Rathian). Plus, I think my armor is weak to even go up against him (I'm using Jhen Mohran) and don't remember if it's weak against fire- it's been like 6 months since I played and I can't play the game due to certain circumstances I'm in- my problem, not the game's.
Anyways, with MHTriG, I'm pretty sure that even without online mode it'll be as if not more enjoyable to play solo just because it's crammed with content plus downloadable quests, which I know was in the PSP games.
Only other way I see playing online if Capcom doesn't invest on it for the West (I'd say they'd save it for MH4) is Xlink Kai and if they start supporting 3DS. Doubt Nintendo will be doing something like Adhoc Party.
well I didn't notice this...the video @TeeJay posted has an interesting bit... Just making sure you guys saw this(pretty sure some of you did but just making sure). check out at around 3:40 [youtube:Bqg0FuyBGYU] It shows us how it handles two monsters and the camera lock-on thingy. Not much but yeah (I didn't see it which is why I'm making sure)
Currently playing: 3DS: KI: Uprising Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles "Heh, heh... Thanks... You're nice. Umm... Can I ask... a question? Your friends... What kind of... people are they? I wonder... Do these people... think of you...as a friend?"
Diablos was evil enough! now he looks even more sinister.
that guy wont get very far with that armor.
LOL! it looks like a R. Ludroth made of grapes xD
I'm guessing this is also a subspecies. But it kinda looks the same as a normal uragaan
is that a thunder attack and frekkin Ludroth armor...? Thunder monster + ludroth armor = noob also, can it see now, or still the same as gigginox?
I can't say if this one looks less weird then the last, or worse.
O.o ! Could take barioths place as my favorite monster. and it looks just as awesome.

lol...this thread is back. Well, um...there's uh...green Plessioth? (kinda saw it coming though, whatever. xD) That and I think he's never played or looked into 3rd, so its all new to him. EDIT: Also, pics aren't showing for me.
Well, Capcom did already gain experience with the 3DS hardware. The game is probably also using some shaders and shadow mapping thanks to the 3DS's GPU called pica200 and its "DMP MAESTRO technology," whatever that means
Is it just me or does 3G look better than MH3 on Wii? (Graphics wise.)
It's the dynamic shadows that are doing the trick really. I mean seriously, I saw the TGS demo with Plessioth being fought on land, and he looked awesome. xD
I think the game looks more vibrant and brighter because of it...so yeah.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Yeah they better mix them up a bit in this game, like...make him poisonous or something, I dunno. xD Website says something about balancing him with attacks on land so he's just as deadly as he is underwater. So...I dunno.
The video above shows why I'm buying the Circle Pad Pro thingy.

I....I have to learn Japanese. So many good games from Japan that I would import, but I don't understand anything!

You really don't need to know Japanese for Monster Hunter, 70% of the menus are pictures and the other 30% can be figured out with a nice translation wiki like bobo's at http://MHF3.com
I don't even use it anymore because I know what most of the items are, some of the skills elude me but I have a print-out guide for them. The monster rewards are very easy to figure out, and for the rest of the materials (that I need for building armor and stuff) I usually just match the characters.
MHP3 is awesome, but it's probably not worth getting any more since MHTriG is coming out. unless you have a PS3 and feel like playing online with friends of course...
