Anyone have any idea how many blocks the downloadable version of this will take up? Anyone know how much space the Japanese eShop edition needs?

Shame on Capcom and Nintendo for making it happen this way to force buying Hardware. If they can explain it was the only way to do the online for the 3DS then fine. But I doubt it. Shame on you! My Boycott Starts on not buying Any Capcom games ever again and that means no more Megaman's included. This is just shameful. The 3DS is more than Capable of Running Monster Hunter Online without having to connect to the Wii-U to do so. Horrible and Shameful.

@Windy
Who cares! The game is well worth the money even without online. Don't miss out on this game just because you have a vendetta against Capcom.

Agreed to both the guys above me. I want online as much as the next person. If I want that I need a wii U. I'm still going to have a lot to do in this game. I'm glad they added another distraction for the monsters so I can do my damage!

No Derail of the Thread. My quote has everything to do with the game and its my oppinion that capcom and both Nintendo should be ashamed to force the buying of Hardware to play online with 3DS. Yes I will miss out on a good game the Demo is awesome. LOL I don't have a vendetta against Capcom I just won't buy any of their games after seeing where they lay with gamers. You must buy a Wii-U and an adapter 400+ dollars to get your copy of 3DS Monster Hunter 3DS online is just Sad and Shameful. If they say that they could not have done Monster Online on 3DS without doing it this way then fine but I doubt that's the case. Also if there is a next release on the 3DS and it plays online without the Adapter I will buy it for sure. I love the Monster Hunter series and I also want to see what the 3DS can do Online and is capable of beyond the Mariokart Online. Don't you guys want to see what the 3DS can do Online Multiplayer, or is at least capable of? That's more my point I really am not trying to Derail the thread. The Demo is great I like it. i'm just frustrated with the Multiplayer Option as I and many others prefer to play Monster Hunter Online Multiplayer. At this point in time I cannot afford a Wii-U

Well, hopefully Monster Hunter 4 will give the 3DS owners that option. And I also don't see this as Capcom or Nintendo forcing the buyers to buy both versions just so they can play online. If anything Capcom could've just made a WiiU version and left the 3DS players hanging in the dust.

True that. I've been so frustrated with the 3DS online multiplayer play. I've chose the 3DS as my system of choice after Reggie made his comment that the system would have Robust online play. After 2 years we have a really good version of Mariokart. I would like to see the system pushed to more Genre's online and Monster Hunter would be a dream. I may still get Monster Hunter if my friend gets it so we can play local wifi.

Nintendo has stepped up when it comes to online. It still could be better but take a look at Kid Icarus and Luigis Mansion, who would've thought that those game would have online? And if you have a friend that will play locally with you, I find that you would have more fun with that than playing online. But you're still right, I'm sure the game would sell more if the MH3DS had online.

I know they did Monster Hunter the way they did so you can use your save File on the go with your 3DS if you own both. That is also a very cool option. As a gamer I prefer they would have just went with the Wifi Straight from the 3DS.

@RoryLee Thanks for listening I think I got all that out LOL Kid Icarus Was awesome and really pushes what the 3DS can do online. I WANT MORE LOL we always want more and better. My favorite local wifi games are Dragon Quest IX on DS just an awesome experience. I also like Phantasy Star Zero online for DS

Finally beat the Gobul on Tri today. I got bored fighting him over and over, and stopped playing the game but today I beat him :D now for the Gigginox, Great Baggi, and repelling the Lagiacus.

True, but having to buy an adapter is kind of an insult. It's like saying "Ok, you want to access the internet on you laptop. To do that, you'll need to buy a special cable, and plug it into your desktop to get internet." Really, really, cheap way to get money from the consumer.

My issue with the 3DS community here where I live is the solution to 3DS lack of online (Monster Hunter in this case). Face it: online is just a quick convenient way of fixing that you don't have real life friends with the same system coming over to your house. I hate that. For that reason Im' trying to organize "mini lan parties" with our 3DS' where I live to come together and play game together. We started just 2 of us. Now its 4 already. Soon, hopefully, we're 6. We could be 7 counting the 10-year-old daughter of one of my customers, she also loves Mario Kart but Im not sure if its good idea for her to come over to a place with 6 guys all aged 30+ having beers. I wouldn't mind though since I regard a gamer as a gamer regardless of age and gender but... ... we'd have to dial back lots on the joke thats running through the house, so... she might better join us... ONLINE! XD lol.

Anyways what I mean is, if you want to play, get your friends to your house, if you don't have friends, find some, if they don'T have a 3DS, make them excited about it. Trust me it works. :) Nothing beats that 90ies lanparty feeling having chips and beer and some burgers! (at least nothign if you're around 30 like me, hehe)

@Tsuchinoko
If it has already been discussed in here I might have skipped it, sorry then,
but could you briefly describe how hooking up with a friend locally works and what the difference is to the main game?
Is it just certain missions? Or free roaming?

Thanks! ;)

Guys if its anything like the demo that came out for the Wii you might not like it! It's a game that has to be experienced from beginning to the end. It's an amazing game for sure but I remember a good deal of people hated that demo. Most people complained because it took to long to get use to the controls and the early quests were boring. Hopefully they will make a good demo this go around!!

I think the people who dont like the demo probably havent experienced much Monster Hunter before. You use every single button to control the game and it takes a while to get used thw controls in every single version of Monster Hunter. The demo is truly awesome and if you have played before, you should be fine with the demo.

Now! Am I the only one upset that you have to own a Wii-U and the adapter to play Online with the 3ds?

I love Monster Hunter with some buds online! yesterday I posted in what I thought was a 3ds thread for Monster Hunter 3ds since it was in 3DS section of the boards and people kind of didn't agree with my question. It seemed they were more concerned with the Wii-U version of the game. Monster Hunter is awesome both ways. single player and Online Multiplayer. Im not buying a Wii-U so I can play it online. I just cant afford to do so at this time and do plan to get a Wii-U in the future. But to have to buy hardware to play the 3ds version is a little rediculous to me

Your comment is totally ignorant of people who play online games. Sorry but people who play online do have lives and might have a hard time organizing lan parties, which are in fact a blast. But there are also people with disabilities who simply cant get out of their homes due to their disabilities. So your comment is in fact ignorant and insensitive. people also work for a living in the Real world and lan parties might not be convenient to their schedule.

@Scollurio I really don't mean to be hard on you cause I happen to agree with you on Lan parties. They are freakin awesome when you can set them up. I ran an ad in our local Craiglist a few years back to Lan party Dragon Quest IX for some play at the local library. It turned out great we had 13 players to play with. Big But, it was a little creepy as a few young people showed up below the age of 15. It all turned out great and everyone had an awesome time. It was the last time I did that though. I thought it would be a good idea which it was but I am also a 30+ gamer and that was a little creepy.

These are the kind of situations people are going to get into if Nintendo, capcom,konami, etc etc continue to do these local wifi only games. luckily for people like you and me we have friends to play Monster Hunter with. I currently have a Monday night get together for Formula 1 on 3ds with 3 friends. we also play various other games. I do not recommend doing the craiglist thing to others. It as fun but might be trouble
