Topic: Minecraft on 3DS ?

I was toying around in minecraft a couple of months ago. then the 3ds came out and i left that amazing game.

imagine it on your 3DS. a minecraft always available at your fingertip (or i should say, stylus-tip) Im sure the 3d effect would look stunning with this one, and it would play awesomely great with the 3ds controls.

anyone would like this strange game on 3DS too ? that would be an instant buy for me.

i seriously doubt the 3ds could handle it. now wii u is a completely different story. they're doing it on xbox, so it'll be do-able on wii u, as long as mojang hasn't sold out to microsoft, that is :/

I would rather have Terraria on 3DS. Minecraft is coming to XBLA IIRC but I probably still wont play it.

the 3ds is solid, i dont see why it couldnt. its not like there is tons of vertex to draw, or hires textures to generate.
the only problem i see would be the networking system, but there could be some way around.

an offline/host mode where you build your world, so you can invite people later.
the world stays on your 3ds, people can join in freely or on invite. if it can handle 60fps second with online street fighter, it should be able to do so with minecraft.

Terraria was built on Microsoft's engine, so It will only be on PC and XBLA.

ouch ! i agree, tnt in minecraft could give hard time to the 3ds. even my pc couldnt handle such madness.

they will surely put restrictions for this....

Visually the game can be done the the 3DS, but technically? No way, there's too much going on for the 3DS's processor and RAM to handle.

Maybe an extremely scaled down version, but I've seen beasts of computers putter out because there's too much going on in the game, specifically when you use TNT.

Would be cool though.

but minecraft is about freedom to do...anything. if they put restriction it just won't be the same

yeah. freedom is the main part of it. i wouldnt mind a tnt restriction, but more ? it could ruin the feeling.
what they would need is a revamped engine.
but indie developpers might not get the budget to rework everything for a 3ds port. unless microsift gives them, but microsoft wont put energy on a nintendo port.

anyhow, the 3DS needs something like minecraft of terraria

or age of empires. the real age of empires. i miss ensemble...

anyway, i just want a wiimote controlled minecraft. say the wiiu's cpu is 4 ghz. it'll run minecraft way better than a pc with a 4 ghz cpu cuz it doesn't have to run all the background crap like the os. and what does what i just said have to do with minecraft on 3ds? absolutely nothing. why did i say it? i haven't a clue

Maybe a good idea, but it just won't work. Minecraft would better be on Wii U, but that's not happening either i think.

but a sidescroller like terraria would suit it better.

and i agree, age of empire, or a good RTS would be a great experience. the stylus control is fantastic, it would work perfect for an rts.

why not warcraft 2 classic on 3DS. i miss this era of RTS gaming.... dungeon keeper, AoE,war2,total annihilation,red alert,starcraft... good old days.
RTS today are just too much for me. im not playing like a military dude, im playing for the fun of it.

Oh well then. I'll play the hell out of it on Steam. I've had it for 2 nights and already have 7.5 hours logged into it.

my pc gives me hellish performance these days. its getting quite old, ive had it for more than 8 years. maybe more.
i dont plan or have budget for a new one soon, it serves me mostly only for internet and some tv-out movie watching.
no more pc gaming for me for a year or so

I want that game coming too! Too bad my PC is really slow and i can't do a lot about it. i don't play Minecraft anymore, just because it's way too slow.

maybe some clud-gaming minecraft.
minecraft needs very much power. so many things to generate.

but i would buy it if it comes out and isnt cut down too much

If Minecraft can run on the Xperia Play then I don't see any reason why the 3DS couldn't handle it.
