I wish I knew. It's like a throwback to the nineties, when no one outside the european market gave two morsels about it, at all.
The kind of neglect shown to even the bare necessities here, is bordering on insult. Seems it's too much to ask for a simple release date. I emailed the studio — kind words only --, and never got a response. I know it's pretty bad when a publisher doesn't give a damn, but the studio making this?
Not to mention that I cannot for the life of me imagine any reason as to why this game wasn't released world wide, at the same time, just like every single other Minecraft that has ever seen the light of day.
It's already given a rating in every country in the world, it's already been greenlighted by Nintendo of Everything, it's already been on Switch, and it's already been years of waiting. What exactly is stopping them?
Saw on the eshop that there is a new update for the game, wanted to know how the game is after the update or if anyone still plays this version. Seems to fix a nice few things, but did it fix that darkness or the random red clouds, I wouldn't know.
@Undead_terror it did not change darkness or red clouds, but load times are much better. game still needs a bigger render distance and multiplayer but its not bad
Ok Ok I've never played Minecraft until now. Wow what a cool game! BUT the case shows amiibo support and there is no place to add an amiibo. What amiibos are supported if any?
The updates seem to be coming a lot slower than we expected.
Anyway here are the patch notes:
+achievements (they're global, and you can only see them from the title menu)
+effect icons and times added to hud
+various ui fixes and tweaks
+fixed a hardlocking issue that happened with sleep mode
+stability
No mention of 3D. And since I switched to a 2DS, I can't really check.

The render distance is specially needed against ghasts, they can see you but you can´t see they until it´s too late.
Does anyone knows if the end will be included in further updates? Although the dungeons are generated, the portal´s blocks lacks texture. Leave a video from my game if you want to check it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OWSZ_bgKnI
So there's fortresses? I figured since the maps where shorter (as in, height) than in other versions then the reason the end wasn't implemented could be because the fortresses needed more space.
But well, if they're already in, then it's only a matter of time before the end is too.
-Visibility was greatly improved in caves and the nether. Which means you can actually see in those places now.
-Sea temples and the blocks and enemies related to them were added.
-The wither was added.
-The brewery and potions were added. Which is weird because potions were already there to begin with. Guess the brewery wasn't. This means you can now revive zombie villagers.
-New achievements.
-Random bug fixes.
The map seems to fill itself differently now, a bit worse than before.
