Topic: Metroid Prime Sequel for 3DS

yeah, I loved the Prime series but it should stay dead.

And yes release Metroid Dread. I want something to happen after Fusion. Especially since that game you can't mention without derailing a topic had some stuff worth looking into that could have logical continuing storylines from game to game (mainly involving certain members of the Galactic Federation).

I think they should just leave the prime series to the home consoles. Maybe we'll see it return someday on project cafe. A 2.5D metroid game for the 3ds with gameplay like super metroid would be awesome though, but for now they should probably focus more on their idle franchises A.K.A f-zero & star fox.

It Doesn't have to a Prime sequel....It just has to play like it! But like i said, I would rather have in on the wii successor and with awesome Controls while the 2D Metroid would be so much better suited for the 3DS.

I agree with this 1. If everything is already resolved in Prime, then what we need next is a Fusion sequel. Although have no idea where they'd go with it next seeings how now both Zebes and SR388 were blown to bits, (or at least that's hat I got from Fusion when the lab gets sent there on collision) and Samus'fusion suit being about the only thing left of the Metroids. Still have to wonder, though, where the Omega Metroid came from near the end of the game....

Didn't Retro say the series was completely over, spin-offs and all, with Corruption? I know there's the hint of story development post-game (the spaceship you mentioned), but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be in the Prime series.

...now that I think of it though, does Metroid Prime Hunters have a solidified place in the timeline, or is it just an assumption that it takes place before Prime 2? Technically, couldn't it be Corruption's sequel?

EDIT: Yes, Hunters has no confirmed place in the timeline. In the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition book, Hunters is not mentioned since the book only explains the chronology of events that took place before Prime. This means that Hunters is either non-canon or it takes place after the three Prime games...which would lead me to assume that it could take place right after Corruption. Kensuke Tanabe said Hunters was in its own universe, but this quote pre-dates the release of Corruption. I believe Prime 3 really did tie up the loose ends, as this would now make all the games connected in the same universe.

I see. Maybe a Prime sequel would be better off with a Home Console, but IMO, Metroid Hunters didn't have that kind of originality that the prime series did, although, i would like to see a Fusion development, that could conjure up an interesting story line.

I think a 2D metroid with 3D effects, like Shadow Complex would work best on the 3DS. I wouldn't mind a sequel to Metroid Prime Hunters though.
