Topic: Metroid 3ds (rumor)

Word in the web says that nintendo is making another metroid game for 3ds. If not then then they will start soon. Do you believe this rumor? If so, then what is some new features you think is going to be in the game?

I'm certainly not going to hold my breath about any Metroid rumours for the 3DS yet.

But if they do decide to create Metroid for the 3DS, I think it has to be in the graphics style of Other M, it looked phenomenal on the Wii. I also wouldn't mind some sort of multiplayer in the likes of Metroid Hunters, or even an online co-op would be nice.

Here would have been the story for the online mode. one X survives and the multiply. It was the same X that attacked samus and copied her. To make things short, basically, you will just be playing as a SA-X. It really clears up the question "why is there more than one samus?"

I think that would be quite a nice team based game. One is SA-X with uber powers while the rest are normal Samus' trying to destroy the X storage tanks. There's alot they could do with the series, especially online. They could make a better Halo out of it if they put their heads together.

EDIT: Thought up a new idea. Ever heard of The Hidden? I think it's on Youtube a lot now. Basically you would be SA-X and you have to kill all the bounty hunters while they kill you, whoever kills SA-X then becomes SA-X and so on. There's quite a few possibilities they could venture into with Metroid.

Nice. What about this. One will start out as an X. The others will have to kill him before he kills them. As an X he can cover his victim's body and mimic him AND if that player does it right the others wont know.

I'd rather just play as the Galactic Federation or Space Pirates in multiplayer. That would explain why there's more than one. I really liked Hunters, but character selection has no place in a FPS...

Well I really do hope that they are at least planing to make another metroid. Not for multiplayer but just for the fun of the story.

Hopefully its a sequel to metroid fusion or a remake of metroid 2 return of samus.

Metroid V is all I want from this series. Especially if it's 2D. We're WAY overdue for a 2D Metroid game instead of a spin-off.

It's been nearly 11 years since the release of Fusion, and Metroid V is no where to be seen even after its development team had two chances to continue from that game (2004 and 2010). The ideas for that game probably haven't even sprung up to even begin the project, so really, I don't care much for a Metroid V anymore. As for a 3DS Metroid in general, I don't feel multiplayer is as necessary as for a Wii U release, so I would be all right with a game with Other M's display or a "New" 2D Metroid, not sprited but either being hand drawn or with 3D models. Overall though, I think I would get more value from a sequel to Metroid Prime Hunters than any other sequel on the table, since it'll be inspired from the Metroid game with the most content.

Also, since it has been mentioned, I will be really upset if this wait for a new Metroid turns out to be a remake of Metroid II.

A 2D METROID would be the way to go I think. But please, please...make sure the game takes place on a planet (instead of a ship)...
