@zezhyrule Good for you. The more we pay for games we already have the more money for Kojima. Which will hopefully lead to peace walker 3D or sequel or something.
I wish Kojima made an original MGS title for 3DS that really utilized the system's features. 3D is okay, but he should have crafted a new game to make use of streetpass and spotpass- just as Heroes of Ruin will be focusing on those aspects. I'm not going to run out and get this game, but it's in on the maybe list for me.
Im hard pressed on why I should want to get this.when it was first shown I was like yeah but for $10 extra I could get this and two other games. What was Konami thinking.
Would be cool to see something like acid or peacewalker for 3ds.

Because not everyone owns a PS3/360, and they wanted to make a game for the 3DS :3
BUT why risk a sales overlap. You announce a enhanced remake of the game in 3D. You then a year later announce the same game with better graphics at a better price then the 3DS game. Seems pretty risky to canabialize sales like that.

In both cases the game is basically a remake. So they won't lose a ton of money. Besides there are people like me and zez that would gladly buy both. Their sales aren't in danger.
Uhm, the HD remakes (I think they're ports, to be honest) are really just the same games.. with crisper picture.. that's it. I call it "Simple HD layer" while the 3DS version, they seem to have reworked the models. But like HD, 3D is just tacked on too.
Kojima even said the amount of polygons used on Snake's face is nearly the same amount on MGS4.
Plus, you can't take a PS3 and 360 everywhere you go with a TV strapped on- if you want to, go ahead. It's MGS3 on the go on 3DS.
I dunno, I read that in an interview last year when the game was shown for 3DS. There was a screenshot where it focused in on Snake's face to apparently compliment what Kojima was saying. The screens shown last year look better than what's being shown this year (and in video form), to me for some reason.
Aren't tech demoes not interactive generally though? Because I'm pretty sure it was running in real time (you can manipulate camera angles, etc). I'm not too keen on stuff like that and I may be referring to something else, possibly "pre-rendered" footage.
I was going to get this, but the HD Collection has this, Metal Gear Solid 2 (my favorite in the series) and the PSP one, which I've never played. Not to mention it's only a tad bit more expensive.

Lol, I love how it shows that the PS2 is showing more depth than the 3DS version... well ofcourse it will do, that was 2D footage of a 3D game, I'm sure the 3DS will show a little more depth.
Personally the 3DS version looks a little nicer with, what looks like, a higher polygon count. However the blurriness of the PS2 gives it a warmer vibe... I don't know, bit unsure about it, but both look really nice in their own way.
Uhm, to be honest... it doesn't look miles great. Looks like it can be done on 3DS anyhow. Looks great, but nothing the 3DS can't do (real time shadowing that even Star Fox 64 3D and Lego Star Wars III has). Seems like the character model has been smoother out a bit. Still see jaggies even though the person narrarating says there aren't.
Environment textures look the same if not even more noticeable (in a not so good way). Reminds of of OoT 3D where they smoothed out the textures but they still seem- how do I say? Fake. Low res? That.
Anyhow, sure everyone is getting it because of how great the game is and not for looks. But really.. I see jaggies. Then again, such things don't bother me, really.
