Topic: Metal Gear Solid 3D doesn't work on New Nintendo 3DS

I purchased Metal Gear Solid 3D from the Eshop a couple of days ago and haven't been able to start the game. The game gives me the black screen of death "An error has occurred, hold the power button.....". I tried using the download repair tool in the Eshop and it actually says that the game needs to be repaired. It gives me error code "17-395" as the cause. I've done the repair several times but I always get the same error. I was using a 64gb sd card formatted as FAT32 which technically isn't supported so I tried moving the game over to the original 4gb sd card but still get the error.

I've contacted Nintendo about this but since the system is from Sweden they pointed towards some distributer here that's supposed to help me. They only have an email adress that I still haven't gotten a reply from. I tried contacting nintendo again (this time trying to not reveal that I'm not american) and the guy wanted me to call them instead since the error was "too complex" to handle over chat.... I don't really want to call considering the charges and such associated, plus the chance that they want the serial number which will reveal the origin of the system.

Has anyone else encountered this error? I've googled the error code which shows a couple of people having the same problem with Xenoblade but none of them have received any answers.

It's only Metal Gear Solid 3D that doesn't work for me.

oh man that sounds bad
so you are living in the US but your 3DS system is from sweden? have you tried contacting nintendo of europe?
maybe you should also try to contact konami, though i doubt they would be a big help but you can at least try

No, I'm in Sweden but Nintendo Costumer Service in the US keeps sending me to the local distributer here who don't have a really robust costumer service from the looks of it. http://www.bergsala.se/sv. Surely they don't handle eshop returns if it comes to that? They only mention hardware repairs on their website. There must be some central european costumer service that can help.

I guess I'll try contacting Nintendo UK or something.

I have had contact with Bergsala several times and i have always had really fast and good service. When did you send the email? I'm curious since i usually get an asnwer the day after or so. Anyway, If it is a hardware problem they could fix it, and if it's not they could probably fix some sort of refund. Like i said, they have a really, really good customer service

@mcarlie: I'm pretty sure customer service is closed during the weekend, so would bet that you will get your reply on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm speaking purely from personal experience of course but like i said, i have contacted them many times and have always goten fast replys. It's the correct email adress to so it shouldn't be a problem.

Redownloaded it to the 4gb sd card and then moved it to the 64gb card via pc and now it works

Glad you solved your problem and i even checked game myself it works fine on 4gb 16gb and 32gb cards. And as for support if something like that happens you can allways contact support in UK they usually reply quick and with usefull information. Plus they can refund eshop if it comes to that. Also they work on weekends.
