What is the outside of a 3DS like?

I like my DSi's matte casing way better than my old DS Lite's shininess. The Lite's plastic case makes it feel like a toy after having gotten used to the DSi's feel.

From the videos and screenshots, it doesn't look like the 3DS is highly reflective like the Lite, but it's hard to tell.

Me too. But from what I saw in some of the latest videos of it, it seems to be glossy just like the Lite.

Fingerprint covered

To me it looks like the outside is like a shiny new car and the inside is not matte but looks like the GBA SP.

I actually like the lite's casing lots better than the DSi's. I don't know, the DSi just feels so fragile, while the lite doesn't as much... And the DSi attracts lots of fingerprints... Of course, I do always wash my hands before I even touch it.

... Not sure how you get fingerprints on a matte-finished system. There may be some smudges on the matte finish, but I haven't encountered any actual fingerprints on the DSi

Oh, I meant like greasy/oily prints. It gets me a riled up, and half of the time, I'm trying to clean the smudges off. :/

I'm the same way with shiny stuff(like the black CCP), but my silver lite doesn't seem to attract much of anything.

shiny gloss plz. i got me a case for my DSi that's nice and glossy, and i love it :3

Glossy, the matte finish sort of rubs off around the buttons, which is annoying.

I'm hoping for matte, because not only does it look less smudged from fingerprints, it feels a lot drier and easier to grip too.

Only if you sweat, that how there can be finger prints.

Glossy because it catches everyone's eyes quicker than a matte finish.

I'd go for more like the original DS, kind of a mix of both. My DSi has its finish wore off in lots of spots, my lites have scratches, by my originals still look really good, even though they have more play time, except the grey around the ridges on top, those are worn down.

I loves me a shiny system, then again, matte saves me from wiping off prints BUT it stains so I'm on the glossy side of life!
