yeah the game's better when you're playing online. there's not much to do in single player other than getting a 3 star rank and beating people's times in time trial. the game's online mode is much better than Mario Kart Wii's in my opinion, because you don't lose VR unless you place last and you can join communities

People are indeed still playing online. We have a thread for user-created communities here, we have an MK7 weekly group here that tries to race at least once a week, and we've also got our official NL communities listed in this thread here. If you're not interested in community racing, yes, the Worldwide option still pulls in plenty of players for you. Enjoy!
