I keep hoping for a Rainbow Cup in the Retro section with a bunch of old Rainbow Road courses. A Galaxy-themed level would be perfect; in fact, it might make for a good replacement for the aging Rainbow Road tradition, as they are kind of similar concepts, and that would fit in nicely with my dream of a Rainbow Cup.

Themed space levels from the Super Mario Galaxy games please.
If you noticed in Mario Kart Wii Rainbow Road had some Super Mario Galaxy based stuff.
A handful of star bits floating around doesn't count
But the music was Galaxy-ish... Plus its Rosalina's course.
And there's that warp star that spins around when you go through it. That's based off of Galaxy.
How about a level where your really small on a table, and you have to drive around in a Super Nintendo. You ramp off a cartridge and fall through the dust cover. Then you drive around on the mother board and those tiny little cords that are always wrapped together. Then you drive out the power input hole thingy. There could be so much detail in a level like that.

There were two tracks on the Mario Kart DS Demo that were not in the game. One was the Nokonoko, which was a beach track, which looks kinda cool. The other is called the Dokan track, which is a aerial tube based level type thing. If you look on YouTube, you can find them textured. Because they should have been in the Mario Kart DS, but weren't, I feel it's a great oppurtunity for Nintendo to do it!
These tracks were on the Action Replay codes. I played them before.

And can you go a little faster?!
My main request would be to have tracks that aren't as wide as those in the Wii version. I would also like to see tracks where you can make your own shortcuts (like the GBA Rainbow Road, or some SNES tracks with use of the feather).

Well, they were wide to accommodate for the 12 player action. It would be cool if there were 12 racers on the 3DS version.

The same way Bowser and Dry Bowser can be on the same track.
Ooooh. Touche.

A race that takes place inside a volcano! Unlike Grumble Volcano, which takes place inside a lava field, this would be more like a race to the top of the volcano, with rolling boulders and fire rings to avoid. Once at the top, the racers jump to the bottom, avoiding spewing lava and falling rocks, which would look fantastic in 3D. On the way down, they would encounter platforms as a safety net of sorts, which would also work like trick pads if there are tricks in it. They would land on a rocky platform that leads to the outside, where the loop continues for two more laps. (If you want a mental picture, do an island flyover on Wii Sports Resort. Fly to the top of the volcano and nosedive into it. Zoom out the exit on the bottom.) Just me fanticising, but it does sound nice, no?
A race that resembles the slider levels of Super Mario 64. It could have one big lap instead of 3, and the cars would go extra fast because they are driving downhill. And a maze level like Yoshi Valley where you can't see the other racer's standings.
