Topic: Mario & Luigi Dream Team 3DS bundle?

I bought the Mario & Luigi Dream Team bundle today which has the game preinstalled already. If I decide to use a 16GB SD card and not the 4GB card, how do I get Mario & Luigi on to the 16GB card? I haven't opened the system up yet since I'm at work, but I am curious. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it matter which SD card brand is used with the 3DS in terms of speed, etc.? I have an older 16GB card laying around that I have never used.

This is the info you need.

Nintendo recommends their SD cards, but since they don't offer 32 GB, I use a SanDisk Extreme Class 10 32GB SDHC card. It's a little overkill, but it was on sale. What are the specs on your card?

EDIT: These are the SD cards that Nintendo recommends.

You can either redownload it from the eShop with the SD card inside your 3DS, or you can copy all the data from the stock SD card to the 16GB one. It doesn't matter what brand your SD card is, and the speed doesn't do much either, I think. I do think they recommend an SD card of at least class 6, but I don't really know all of the specifics. Your SD card should work just fine.

Thanks guys! I'm not at home right now but the SD card had come with my digital camera I had bought years ago. Being an older card I am not sure if it is a class 6, but I'll have to look when I get home from work.

How do you copy your data from the stock 4GB to the new card?

I have the same bundle. I switched the 4 GB card out for a 32 GB card. Needed to be sdhc (hc=high capacity - 2GB up to 32 GB) type. I think people have seen issues with the newer sdxc (xc=extended capacity - 32GB to 2TB) although there are some people that say it will work. I used a SanDisk Ultra SDHC with a 10 speed rating 32GB.

I followed the instructions here and the game transferred without issue. http://ds.about.com/od/nintendods101/a/How-To-Transfer-Data-B...

Excellent, thanks! This sounds very easy to do.

I'd just try the 16GB card you have. Can't hurt.
I mean i've got a quite slow 32GB card but i guess it only really affects the loading speed in the main menu. That's good enough for me. I don't use it for photos or videos though. It might affect these too maybe.
