Yeah. Not that BIS was bad IMO, it just wasn't SS level.

Looks awesome, and actually RPG like (unlike Paper Mario: Sticker Star). Though something tells me the story will be underwhelming, due to the whole "it was a dream" cliche.

I agree; Bowser's Inside Story was really good, was Superstar Saga is still my favorite mainly for its open world. The Beanbean Kingdom just feels so vast. That openess was taken out in Partners in Time and mostly in Bowser's Inside Story. I hope Dream Team takes it back to its roots.

I think Nintendo's actually trying to make Nintendo Direct more important than E3. I have a feeling we won't see as much at E3 as everyone thinks.

Doesn't talk about games.

I would have to totally agree. Just look at all the stuff they could've showed already!

Sheesh, talk about narrow-minded gamers. We've only got one trailer of a game that doesn't have a release date and people are already getting on Dream Team's case saying "Oh, I hope it's as good as Superstar Saga 'cause it'll always be the best". Newsflash, that's most likely nostalgia talking. BIS was an awesome game and PiT (while may be the weakest of them but not by much) was good too.

You want something like Superstar Saga? Go play Superstar Saga! Not all games will play like your favourites, y'know.

What's wrong with hoping? That just helps the hype and suspense a bit and gets people more excited for the game.

Unless, just maybe, they're getting their stuff out of the way now to leave all of E3 to upcoming 3rd party games so they don't get overshadowed by Nintendo's first party stuff. Which is a pretty good idea, IMO.

I have to agree that Superstar Saga's love is mostly nostalgia, though. It's actually the least fun and creative entry in the series. I'd also argue it was the least funny, too.

lol, this shouldn't bug you so much.

Anyway, I mostly just wish it'd return to its roots rather than keep making these gimmicky "other worlds" which (imo) end up being less fun than the normal ones. I'm all for innovation, but it needs to be done intelligently, and innovation and Nintendo's RPGs really don't have the best track record together. I think what we're wanting is a sequel akin to what TTYD was to the original Paper Mario, rather than a sequel like Sticker Star or Super Paper Mario that tries new things but loses what made the originals so beloved in the process.

I definitely disagree with this.

I still feel as if Super Star saga was a lot more creative than the later entries. BIS came close though. But SS took place in a whole different world, the story featuring
Birdo as a decoy
was a brilliant plot twist and the way
Cacletta merged with Bowser
was one awesome. The levels felt a lot more connected as well, I agree with some here that SS gave the feeling of a bigger world in itself. It felt vast and interesting.

It also has the best and most fun fighting system in the series. PIT's fighting system was pretty weird and less fun IMO. BIS took it back to it's former glory though, with some really awesome special attacks.

The 2D sections of this new installments are somewhat of a worry for me, since I feel as if the 2D parts of BIS were the least fun. But hopefully the way you interact with Luigi during those sequences can ad a lot of variation and make them more fun. Sure looks that way at least. Can't wait to play it! :D

I'm currently re-playing SS, loving it! I'm going to go through all the titles before the launch of DT. :)

What do you mean by gimmicky 'other worlds'? SS took place in a different kingdom, sort of a different world, and that's fine for you; or am I getting the wrong end of the stick? Care to explain further?
