I never played Luigi's Mansion for the GC but I really wish I had. Number 2 is a day one pick up for me, Luigi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mario

Next level games did a great job on Punch-Out so I'm looking forward to see how they do with this. The first game was pretty fun, I'll have to play it again before this comes out.

Currently Playing:
Zelda II: Adventure of Link

If this game will have a dark atmosphere in the final version, I'll be sure to buy this.
I hate how Nintendo always has to tone down the scary part for those blasted kiddies.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

yes, because when I think scary in a video game, I think Nintendo and Luigi's Mansion. Who needs Eternal Darkness or Silent Hill when we have ghosts that throw banana peels. OOOH FRIGHTENINGly old jokes.

Try a XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X LET'S PLAY now for the cost of nothing! : D

Actually, I like the so called 'kiddy humor' of the Mario franchise as that charm and innocence is what keeps me coming back to Nintendo again and again.

True, but I'm only buying this if it's damn dark

Is there any coverage of Luigi's Mansion in this months issue of Nintendo Power with the Pokemon CD in it?

You honestly expect Nintendo, a company that banned Devil World from North American shores because of religious icons, to allow Silent Hillesque horror? Boy, that's setting yourself up for disappointment there! How could they ruin Luigi like that?

And when I was younger, the blackout part of Luigi's Mansion actually spooked me. There were ghosts everywhere! There was not a single room besides the foyer that was packed with ghosts! I don't feel intimidated now, but I sure did back then.

@TokyoRed: There was nothing new in the NP article, except for maybe Luigi's Mansion 2 having more puzzle-oriented gameplay than the original.

Thx NintyFan. I was simply impressed with the cover but I could not bring myself to buy the magazine but as a Nintendo fan I feel kind of bad for not buying it. I might end up buying it in the long run because that is one epic cover but still as if Star Fox was 't mouthwatering enough they've got Shinobi 3DS plus Kid Icarus in this issue. Next issue will no doubt have Sonic Generations in it. I'm trying to save money for Christmas and I seriously don't want to break the savings bank.

Aw, come on guys, give Luigi some attention here! Luigis' Mansion 2 will be yet another great game coming out next year, and you know it! From the new screenshots released, the mansions will be pretty diverse, which is a good thing.

About my earlier statements, I'd be glad enough if the game was like the beta-version of LM2's predecessor.
Even that's a bit creepy.

So is this game going to be released between Halloween and Thanksgiving of 2012? It'd make either a great goodie in a Trick or Treat bag or as a would-be Turkey Day Stuffer!

Absolutely not. Don't make us wait even longer! You already predicted correctly that Kid Icarus: Uprising would be great for Valentine's Day since it has angels in it!

I've got some pretty fond gnarly and cozy memories of getting my fresh flashy Indigo Gamecube for Christmas morning back when I was 16.....You know, the rebelious akward pimply crazy 'going through fazes' & 'hating school to no end' insecure wonky confusing teenage years!), with none other than Luigi's mansion.

Which is hands down my favorite GCN game out of the bunch. I have it in my collection but I haven't touched it, since..well, 16. Yikes, that was around 10 years ago hehe. And what can I say, Luigi's Mansion was short but sweet and oh so awesome! There's no doubt that I'll give it a whirly before Luigi's Mansion 2 breaks lose out of Miyamoto's Ghost Trap next yearzy.

Buty yup! I'm really looking forward to busting some ghosts Egon Spengler-Style in Luigi's Mansion 2, but I'm putting my massive excitement aside for Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion 2 and RE: Revelations since they're not being pumped out until next year during the big jiff master '2012'. and I'm directing my mondo wave of ultra school girl sailor moon giddyness and 'going to freak out of my Fry Guy skull' excitement towards Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

I was watching some footage of people playing demos at conventions the other day and I love how interactive the mansions are. Lots of potential for tons of hidden secrets and such. I know some people are complaining that it doesn't seem as "dark" as the original game but in reality, the first game wasn't that dark to begin with. The music was creepier, yeah, and there were ghosts that vaguely resembled (cartoon) humans. That's about it. Oh, and yeah, the rooms were aesthetically darker, but I've noticed that darkness in game tends to "ghost" the 3D effect significantly so that could be a very valid reason why the rooms aren't as pitch-black in this game.

I've pretty much decided that I'm buying Luigi's Mansion 2. Yeah, it probably won't be as "dark" or have the character development that the first had, with the back stories of the ghosts and such (since Nintendo seems to be more about "fun" and less about story in Mario-series games now) but I feel like this will be a very fun, very cool game to add to the 3DS library.

I don't know about Kirby... The new game seems much slower than Kirby SuperStar (which is what it's supposedly based on). Character movement seems more sluggish.

The other games I am extremely hyped for, especially Super Mario 3D Land and Skyward Sword. I don't know enough about the new Kid Icarus game to really care about it yet. I tried playing the original NES game and hated it.

But Luigi's Mansion 2 is my number one 3DS game for next year. I absolutely loved the first game and hope the new one keeps that dark, yet goofy atmosphere. I do wonder who Luigi has to rescue this time...

You know, I think I just thought of the game's plot. Luigi and Professor Egad have set up a ghost-busting business, and various clients have called upon them to rid their homes of specters. So Luigi starts his newest adventure and gets to keep all the money he finds steals gets paid.
