Topic: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Thx NintyFan. I was simply impressed with the cover but I could not bring myself to buy the magazine but as a Nintendo fan I feel kind of bad for not buying it. I might end up buying it in the long run because that is one epic cover but still as if Star Fox was 't mouthwatering enough they've got Shinobi 3DS plus Kid Icarus in this issue. Next issue will no doubt have Sonic Generations in it. I'm trying to save money for Christmas and I seriously don't want to break the savings bank.

This game looks amazing. I LOVED the first one.

About my earlier statements, I'd be glad enough if the game was like the beta-version of LM2's predecessor.
Even that's a bit creepy.

So is this game going to be released between Halloween and Thanksgiving of 2012? It'd make either a great goodie in a Trick or Treat bag or as a would-be Turkey Day Stuffer!

I was watching some footage of people playing demos at conventions the other day and I love how interactive the mansions are. Lots of potential for tons of hidden secrets and such. I know some people are complaining that it doesn't seem as "dark" as the original game but in reality, the first game wasn't that dark to begin with. The music was creepier, yeah, and there were ghosts that vaguely resembled (cartoon) humans. That's about it. Oh, and yeah, the rooms were aesthetically darker, but I've noticed that darkness in game tends to "ghost" the 3D effect significantly so that could be a very valid reason why the rooms aren't as pitch-black in this game.

I've pretty much decided that I'm buying Luigi's Mansion 2. Yeah, it probably won't be as "dark" or have the character development that the first had, with the back stories of the ghosts and such (since Nintendo seems to be more about "fun" and less about story in Mario-series games now) but I feel like this will be a very fun, very cool game to add to the 3DS library.

I don't know about Kirby... The new game seems much slower than Kirby SuperStar (which is what it's supposedly based on). Character movement seems more sluggish.

The other games I am extremely hyped for, especially Super Mario 3D Land and Skyward Sword. I don't know enough about the new Kid Icarus game to really care about it yet. I tried playing the original NES game and hated it.

But Luigi's Mansion 2 is my number one 3DS game for next year. I absolutely loved the first game and hope the new one keeps that dark, yet goofy atmosphere. I do wonder who Luigi has to rescue this time...

You know, I think I just thought of the game's plot. Luigi and Professor Egad have set up a ghost-busting business, and various clients have called upon them to rid their homes of specters. So Luigi starts his newest adventure and gets to keep all the money he finds steals gets paid.

Is it just me, but does the game have a kinda bad frame-rate?

If it's "damn dark", you won't be able to see what's going on :V

I'm looking forward to this one, definitely. I loved the first one, and I can't wait for a release date to come up for this one!

I do think it's supposed to be out fairly next year though. Then again, Kid Icarus and Resi are out pretty soon... I suppose they may leave it until May or something.

I can't wait! Loved the first one! Now ten years later, the sequel gets released! Awesome! The concern I have about the game is the controls. Do I have to use gyro scope to capture ghosts or can I use the second d-pad? Because if you can only capture ghosts with gyro scope, that would be kinda annoying. Plus I wanted co-op in the game. But sadly that won't happen . But I'm still gonna pick it up day one! Hope it comes soon!

@ #104: That was probably me that posted about possible next month release....however Someone working for tendy on here said April/May open window.....I actually played through the 1st one in one sitting under 3 hrs. last night and scored an -A- ranking...ahhh the nostalgia. one game that hasn't lost its edge...

what could co-op do for this game? I don't see much to be had from co-op...

So I've never played the original, I love all of the Mario games, how does this compare? Can someone discribe the game and say why the original game is good or not and why I should run out on the first day and buy it? I really want to love it, but don't know much about it.

Have the original...it's fantastic but will not placate me any more.... I am becoming VERY impatient about the wait for this one!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from being set in the same universe, Luigi's Mansion is not much like typical Mario games. You don't jump. Instead, you explore a haunted house, catch ghosts, and find keys to open up more areas of the mansion. It's a fun game, but the original is quite short. To really get a feel, watch some gameplay videos on YouTube or track down a copy if you have something that can play it.
