There are a huge amount of problems with that game, but in my eyes being too childish wasn't one of them.

Not anymore childish than any other Mario game.

It's a pretty good PM, too. The sticker system isn't as fun as the traditional combat, but I give them props for trying something fresh, and it's fun enough.

new good ideas can lead to new bad ideas

also it's the only Mario game in years that isn't just like a previous game in the series which is cool

So wait, you need to be told it's not childish in order to keep playing it and keep your pride or something? Just play whatever without regard to what others will think. Who cares if a game is childish or not if your enjoying it lol.

My thoughts, exactly. How can you have fun with something, if you care what other people think about it? I for one have not played Sticker Star. I am a fan of the series, but just got a 3DS, and it is pretty low on my "buy list" since I have heard such luke-warm things about it. I think out of curiosity at some point, I will still pick it up, but from what I hear it just has none of the charm of the older games.

E means it's for everyone, not for children. Who cares if it's childish? That just means they can make it less serious and more fun. I'm childish and proud of it.

Doesn't look any more childish than other Mario games :/

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

It's not a matter of it being childish. There's nothing wrong with that. A game can be geared towards a younger audience and still appeal to adults. You can be an adult and LOVE these games. Just look at me! And furthermore, just look at the entire Mario series, it's always been that way. If you're looking for some dark, mature games just go play Call of Duty, Metroid, or something. Nintendo is the equivalent to a toy store, they're meant to bring the inner child out in you. If you find that Mario games are too childish for you, then maybe it's time to move on. But I gotta say.... it's your loss.

But with that said, it's not that the games childish, it's that its ideas such as the sticker mechanic and little to no storyline cause it to fall flat. I'm not too fond of this game. It's not bad but it was a big disappointment for me.

I'm still failing to see why fans overreact so much to this game. :/

I think it's pretty good.

Paper Mario has high standards. Some of the sticker puzzles are way too difficult for normal people to get and feels like trial and error. It is a one party member turn based RPG and turns the game into item management: the video game, which doesn't fit what any Mario fan would ever ask for. The lack of story after the last 2 games had really, really good story.

I like the game but I'm not blind.

Yeah, it has problems but in my opinion I actually liked the changes in Sticker Star. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as games like Partner's In Time and I don't even think it's the worst Paper Mario game.

I don't quite see the game as a dissapointment (mostly because it was my first PM game).
The thing I think society looks down when you are playing that game in a public space, ain't it ?

I mean that most people remember the disappointment from the fanbase instead of the actual game. Instead of "this game is super amazing!", I see people discuss the backlash from the game more, so that's a very memorable aspect to it. (Again, I don't think it's a bad game at all, just that the huge difference from prior PM games [which I haven't played either] caused an uproar and that's what springs up when people talk about it.)

But honestly, I think many games from Nintendo are looked down upon by many. Just remember that imagination is the most powerful of all assets, and that imagination is very childish indeed. There's no shame in it. "Maturity", instead of the blood and gore it's seen as today, should mean a wise and steady mind- part of which is ignoring what others think of you in cases that it isn't significant. Unless the way people judge you is making an important impact on your progress in life(like missing out on a job), just ignore it and enjoy your games.

It's a damn hard game! I got stuck for days at a time while I was playing it, although one of those times was just because I missed an invisible block... >.< It was worse than how stuck I got during OoT! I wouldn't call it childish. It's not the best game I've ever played, but I definitely enjoyed it a lot!

I don't like sticker star not because it's childish, but because it's a bad game. It's the only game that I've EVER resold. As for the concerns of being childish, who cares. I'm in college and when I'm bored on campus I'll pull out my 3ds and play Mario, kid Icarus or whatever i'm in the mood of playing. Play what you like not what others think you should be playing.
