That I would buy. Especially if it has the CDs again. I loved collecting those.

It still amazes me how Mario, Zelda and Metroid have kept going strong for over 25 years.
Then out of the blue Mega man's creator leaves Capcom and suddenly it's all over for Mega man.
I fear the day when Miyamoto leaves Nintendo. I really do.

Miyamoto leaving Nintendo wouldn't be that bad.
Mario wouldn't be the same, but Aonuma would look after Zelda and... whatever the other guy is called would look after Metroid.

as in yoshio sakamoto of metroid, yes that's the guy. i think as long as nintendo still has mario etc and other franchises, characters, and they are doing well sales-wise, they'll be ok.

MegamanZero follows a story. I would absolutely hate a zero 5 since there is no way they could make a reasonable story for it. It'd be awful. Another, "I hid and repaired myself" moment! Megaman Legends 3 is the most necessary of the ones you listed. It's not happening though. Ever.
X9 is the most possible. It better have improved 3D graphics like x8 though. As much as I love retro sprites x8 was beautiful! We need next gen version of that.

Any X title that isn't on the Super NES is an absolute tragedy. And honestly, MMU looked better than MML3. So if anything, Capcom should continue work on MMU.

I greatly disagree - while Mega Man X4 and 5 were rediculously easy, at least they were still good fun with solid and interesting stage designs and bosses, which is more than I can say for X2 or 3. They also had the best stories in the series. The only "travesties" were X6 and X7, with six having the most rediculous difficulty and horrible stage designs, and X7 being poorly excecuted all the way through. X8 could've even been pretty good, had they replaced the 3D and auto scrolling stages with better than average normal stages. It certainly had a lot going for it, especially well implimented collectable upgrades outside of the usual armor and health upgrades.

Well perhaps we'll see more of the Robot(s) or Navigators, I mean those are the two more popular and personally my favorites. Though I hear people once in a while, spout a bit of hate for the Navigators. I have seen a episode of the Starforce anime, only once and Cartoon Network dumped it.

Well I guess we'll just have to disagree as I think the X series should have stopped at X4. Sure X4 was good, but the rest were embarrassing. As for storyline wise, I prefer X1.

Not quite, I can come up with a few ideas. Notice the silhouette in front of the sun? That could be Zero leaving Ciel, knowing that it is best for the both of them if he left to finish what he and X have started. Then, through a long quest of eliminating countless remaining Mavericks, all whom seem to have found a new leader, X's cyber-elf soul has just enough strength to fuse with Zero, thus creating the first ZX. There! Now I've written the premise for a sequel to te Zero series and a prequel to the horrible ZX series.

Why do people keep thinking ZX is horrible? Aside from the map, it was Zero with more exploration and different configurations. What could be wrong with that?

I loved the ZX games! they felt very much like a continuation of the Zero series.
When Zero 4 ended they made it seem like Zero 5 would never happen.
ZX and Advent filled that void quite nicely. Sure they were more Castletroid style but I enjoyed them.
I'm still hoping by some miracle they'll make another one.

It isn't really horrible "per-say". The game was great, the concept was awesome, but the ZX map was way too flawed, we could witness a sequence before it is actually supposed to happen and the story left more questions than answers, especially that cliffhanger in ZXA. Plus we didn't have enough character development and Capcom seems to be trying as hard as they can to kill off Zero (they killed Giro, then "destroyed Model Z). But I'm not bashing the game itself, I'm saying the package lacked some content. It's the Sonic 06 case again, but this game doesn't have a lot of glitches.

Megaman ZX has not scarred people for life, the Sonic 06 comparison is not warranted.

So "Mega Man Zero" and "ZX" are direct continuations of the "Mega Man X" games?

I played a bit of ZX and it was ok. I didn't like the concept of humans wearing Reploid armor though. They were simply clones of X and Zero, not the real thing.

As for the other Mega Man spinoffs... I know Battle Network is a "re-imagining" of the series, with computer networks instead of robots. But WTF is StarForce supposed to be?

Classic series FTW!

@ LordTendoboy
They aren't exactly direct sequels but they do take place after eachother in the timeline.
X takes place after the classic series, Zero takes place after X and ZX is after Zero.
The gameplay is similar but the characters and timeframe between games is hundreds of years apart.
Those two ZX games might as well be Zero 5 and 6 even though they aren't called that.
They were obviously meant to be related to eachother.

MMX8 was quite decent, but never beats X or X2.
