I couldnt find any thread about this game - so I thought I start one.
Just read some news about this game - never played the original series, if its similar to the fire emblem series I might get really interested in it. What do you think, will it release in the west? Anyone played the originals?
Warsong is the only one I played, it was more like Fire Emblem crossed with Advance Wars. I liked it a lot, if they keep it to that style, I might check it out.
EDIT: Saw some screenshots, looks like they are adhering to the original style. That's good to know.

agreed, the character art almost looks amateurish, way OTT and some of the faces are too similar... for a relatively big game it all looks abit lazy.... please prove me wrong with decent gameplay
Whatever happened to Satoshi Urushihara, anyway? He has one of the most distinctive, immediately recognizable styles in the industry, up there with Hayao Miyazaki and Akira Toriyama, but it's like he fell off the face of the earth after the late 90s.

If you search in the wrong places (like I did), you'll find that he did a lot of cover art for certain magazines over the last ten or so years, but only had assisting roles in terms of character designs for games and animé. Now that he's back though, I hope he'll be able to re-establish his work in a more constant manner.

Yeah, looking up his recent work now and it looks like he did a moderate amount of erotica and key animation for various anime in which he had no artistic input.

He's not doing the art for this game. The character designer is Hiroshi Kaieda this time. I mean, seriously, Satoshi hasn't changed his style in over a decade. The girls are way too flat to be his designs...
@CanisWolfred I'm all too well-aware, since I really like his unique style, so a non-Urushihara Langrisser game is pretty sad. But Urushihara had an advisory role, and that's good enough in my book. It shows that companies are still interested in working with him in general, and maybe is just the first step towards Urushihara getting back in action himself at some point.

C'mon Japan. Just keep it to 1 or 2 characters. You're making us all look bad.
Makes about as much sense as bandages around a sword. I don't even think fantasy needs to make sense. But it surely shouldn't be the exact opposite of sense.
