YES!! I only own nintendo consoles so I plan on getting the first one on the GC and I wouldn't want to skip from that to the MGS3 on the 3DS, especially with the convoluted plot that I've heard runs through the series.
Yeah they should totally put MGS 2 on 3DS as well. Maybe we'll even get MGS 4 on Wii U.

I was honestly thinking that Konami's in a good position to release a great Metal Gear Solid Collection on the 3DS. Sure MGS2 and 3 are coming in that HD collection, but since its a Nintendo console Konami can port Twin Snakes (which was made by Silicon Knights while under contract with Nintendo) to the 3DS so you'll have a proper Metal Gear Solid collection. Then there's those rumors about Konami wanting to port MGS4 as well.
While konami are at it they can put snatcher on the 3ds as well.
